QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 24 2009, 11:16 PM) Of course not most of the time when we send into NCC they give u back your memory card,Battery and back casing. You can use the phone using USB cable and u mass storage to format too. icic..so means can format thru windows without card reader rite? I wonder if i copy out everything from card then format then put back all files will i lose anything or not..anybody tried this? |

QUOTE(Xploit Machine @ Nov 24 2009, 11:23 PM) I wonder why u said FAT32 suddenly, i formatted my SD wen bought, as I always do this method for all my drives wen freshly bought since i dont trust manufacturer's formatting method. ok but i want to know if i copy everything from the card to hard drive, then format the sd card then copy back everything will be as usual right? cos i never tried this before so wondering if it works..Mine shows FAT32, wat i've done is at Command Prompt .. C:\>Format <SDdriveletter> /x ![]() September till now .. no data loss |

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Nov 26 2009, 09:50 PM) Well, generally the more stuff you have in your SD, your nokia will become laggier. That's nokia symbians. We've no choice, since S60V3 lagging issue is there until now. My 5800 so far is ok, only minor lag when opening the gallery, other no lag. My concern is whether FAT32 is slower than RAW when using the phone to load the application icons/resources...well will know soon |

Yeah i used your method, in fact I feel my phone faster now...weird..fat32 faster than raw? and chkdsk is much faster compared when it was raw..i'll test to see if this is really much faster..if so, its a lot better to use fat32 than default raw...

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Nov 26 2009, 10:49 PM) make sure u do two backups just in case (I did that):- one from PC suite, just files from memory card will do - manually copy ALL files from SD to your hard drive into a backup folder Then format, then restore by copying back all files from backup folder to card (takes long time, mine took me > 30 minutes cos a lot of files hahaha)..then it should work fine. |

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Nov 26 2009, 10:52 PM) So you mean, i can just CTRL+A all items in my memory card, back up them in my pc, then format my card, then put everything back inside? yeah..make sure you show all hidden files just in case got hidden stuff inside...but like i said, best u backup this way (manually) and use pc suite as well just in case for some reason one method cannot restore, u have another method. good luck |
