Is this game nice? Are there still many people playing? How long does it take to finish the game and do you require to play repeatedly in order to upgrade your character/weapons?

Just wondering any guys still playing demon's soul? Are there alot of R1 players as i'm on R1 with Asia PSN. How's the latency with US players?
