.___. there's a huge demon's soul following even at lyn? and i thought the people at neogaf were daft for being all over this game xD

i tried the game for about 20 minutes before turning it off last year, the character design bugs me oh so much! is the gameplay really that good guys :?

Actually it pretty much depends on what you like.. Just like how I detested Red Dead Redemption.. The vast world it gives just doesn't suits me.. The plot and activities bore me to oblivion so I had to stop it after 20 hours of playtime...Unable to carry on no matter how much I tried.. But you know its just me not liking the wild wild west..

For demons souls.. Well, here comes a short essay.. Lol...

At first I can't really accept the character designs at all, but well, since I will be hiding under the helmet throughout the whole game then I see no problem... And helmet is important for newbie else its hard to survive... So is the rest of your armor.. Clunky or not..

Anyway, the reason for me to like this game is because the gameplay is very good... It actually depicts more on the battle in reality... And you really need skills to play this game.. Its not just simple mindless hack and slash.. Also sometimes when you want to go back to a dungeon you really have to remember which spots is strategic to defeat the creature, their pattern and how to do so..

Moreover, The boss fights, I mean those hard ones are gruesome... Lol.. When you look at those boss you will go "God, how am I suppose to beat it".. But, after some trial and error, when you finally defeated it... I can't began to tell how gratifying it is..

So in short, these process in the game is the factor that makes a whole new experience for the gamers.. Its like you really have your own style in the demon soul realm, where once you found it its pretty easy which I think is what most of us find it rewarding..

Besides, I like the idea how hard it was but at the same time not cheap.. Like i said if you know your way you can survive that harsh world people created and be the king... Plus, I love how overwhelming those bosses make me feel... For me those feelings are beyond word..

Oh and before I forget, if you always log on to online mode, its funny the way other players will leave message either to help u, trick u, or just joking using a few pre-set words in the midst of the dark world... And sometimes, the way they dies is really really funny...

So yeap, just try it out yourself.. If you do not like it.. Then I guess its just not your type of game..

It looks hard, but if you get that the hang out the stamina blocking mechanism, its just hack and slash really with rolling back and such.

Too make it more easier, it is a grinding game, so you could just spend 100+ hours of playtime collecting souls and just be done with the game.

Trophy wise, it is challenging as the world tendency sometimes a pain in the ass(like I'm experiencing right now with huge black phantom giant goblin )




Yes, this feature is definitely unique, despite the dark ambiance of the game, you'll be accompanied by running souls, useful tips left by other players and also safe spot markings to position yourself in boss battle.

I would say, I am glad to play this game while the upcoming sequel is just around the corner.

Vinland is not female mer if not mistaken? I also just finish the game, Agree with all the pinpoint factor of the game. Took me about 70hour to finish the game, Sold it because the new one is coming out so tod start a new game playing new game better

Possible or not, if i die in the 1-4, then regain soul through invade other ppl world then go back die in 1-4,the world tendency will go to black?

i guess i get where you're coming from. while it might be somewhat different - i could pick up the similarity between this game and mmo's i've had fun playing with friends. i've played warhammer / aion / tera and i've to admit aion had some really tough boss fights which required a lot of pre-planning, espcially at the earlier stages when not everyone was rockin tricked out gears yet. but still being a person who places such a high regard to aesthetic form as well it's just so hard to accept the beady eyed char design of demon's souls ._x

i might give it another go but seeing how much i've dissed the game i can't quite reconsile with my friends on this game just yet. at least not till i've covered some ground. a question i have would be does it allow a somewhat co-op option when playing online? or.. not really?

Not really though... you can ask them to help you out by summoning them using blue eye stone.. but thats that...

could you elaborate on the summoning bit? as well as how exactly does the online thingy go for demons souls if you've the time. i know i could prolly google / youtube it but i'm a little dense/impatient when it comes to these kind of things. lol

well, there will be a stone you will inevitably obtain after fighting the first demon boss.. But you will get many of them in later stages.. You can use the stone to get summon by other random people whom were in the form of white souls running around.. So if you want your friend to summon you you will have to ask them to wait at the same place as you.. And They can choose to touch the sign or not to touch.. Because I saw a sign before but I was a newbie so I dare not go and touch the word..The max players you can get in one session is 2 person not including you..

Then there is red eye stone.. This stone is for others to invade you or when you sees it you can invade others.. Here you can kill your online opponent..

The other stone for you to become a red phantom and invade others forcefully is by using the black eye stone..

Oh FYI different region log in to different server..

There is more to this in demon souls.. There is this slightly complicated stuff called pure white to pure black world tendancy which I have yet to explore and figure out untill I am ready for it.. Some of the players here are pro... Maybe they can help when you want to try it..
