QUOTE(Dickong @ Apr 15 2010, 06:25 AM) I dont agree with your statement, can u be more specific how the lense work n have statistic it will wear out faster playing uncle ho dvd? Im not creating stories, im just posting info based on user's personal experiences. I have a mate who bought Sony BDP S360, he didnt know that Sony BD players are rather sensitive. So he played what you call "uncle ho" dvd all the time cos seems blu-ray not affordable. His lens koyak in less than 2 months and had to send for service. Not sure how much he was charged. Didn't see for sometime now. I guess if you dont agree, then i can't help it. |

One of the reason of the 'premature' failure of the pick-up lense is due to the non-flat of the disc itself. Pirated DVD / BD might not be totally flat. So, when you put it into the tray, it will spins noisily and in an unstable way. This could damage the sensitive lense.

Thats where the player itself will force to do some internal feedback correction which can significantly reduce the lens life-span.This is very applicable too in CD Players. As you can see, all audiophiles cd players, be it entry leve or high end, they normally do not feed them with cheap-scale cds. |

Go get the Sony bdp-s765 instead of the s360. It is selling @ RM1500.00. A friend of mine bought these unit. Before getting the 765, a hifi shopowner loan him a denon bdp with retail around two ks to go along with his new Vivitek projector. Wasn't very happy with the PQ until the 765. It beat the denon bdp flat in PQ dept. According to him, all the output at the back of the player are gold plated just like high end model. i think one of the forumer here bought these player last year.

Someone offered me Pioneer BDP-120 for RM750. Am leaning towards the Panny BD60 but which would be a sensible choice?
Appreciate any comments. Tq~ |
