the wireman from my contractor is delaying my work...
i have fully settled the main con payment

now the wireman
have paid 50% and still i am holding his 50%.
supposed to install all fan n lighting last thurs but he delayed to next week.
the main box fuse which is new have yet to insert the wires (wires there but not inserted in the fuse)
and got a few plug point yet to install the socket

due to this... i am delayed doing stuff in the house

will wait till next week n see whther he keep his words to do the installation this mon n tues

if he does not, can i hire another wireman to complete the installation of fans n lights and do the wire installation n sockets?
after that deduct the charges from the first wireman quote?
this might cause some conflict....but am fedup///

by right, i am the one should be in command as i am paying the money

What is his reason for delaying his work?
If you want to hire another wireman to replace him, you need to tell the original wireman first that you no longer require him to finish these anymore.
You can ask him for how much he has spent up until now, and you have to pay him that. For materials bought, you can ask him to provide the receipt.

You can communicate your expectations to him clearly and tell him if he doesn't meet the datelines you will be engaging another wireman.

I always very scared of these people because most of them are not customer oriented. And they couldn't be bothered that you may spread bad comments about them.
