How long do you do the home + start button? It does take a little time. To be safe, when your phone is OFF, press the HOME button first, then, while still pressing it, press the start button. Do NOT release it until u see a screen with green text. Its pretty easy actually smile.gif

Step 2 - Installing the recovery console

1. Find this file in the archive:
recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.3.img

2. Move the file to your SD card (do NOT put inside any folder!)
Hi Shahz,

Can i move the file by just connecting the usb cable to the pc without a card reader?
Thanks!

Failed to update RA 1.2.3 with flashrec. On MCR 2.9c and Tek's 1.8. Updated to RA 1.3.2 with adb instead.

Wierd enough though, coz so far I have flashed more than 50 Heros with no problem. Made sure everything is fine on my first post too. Installed with flashrec that is. Well, using ADB, you get to be more friendly and personal with the Android OS wink.gif

Added on November 22, 2009, 2:31 amHi Shahz,

i'm wonder where can i get the "USB Mass storage" selection in the recovery console.
i can onli access to the sdcard when it's totally booted.
furthermore is it muz apply the 2.8-update-hero-modacocustomrom-core-signed.zip ...etc in order then onli it will be working?
what if my sequence is wrong?

Thanks!

Usb mass storage is the second last option in the recovery console. the arrangement is not necessary if you have already rooted and install the recovery console. smile.gif

Are you sure you are running AmonRa 1.2.3? Or are you running cyanogen recovery?

Hmm, me forgot to save my contacts before going to Step 2.. Anyway to recover it from Nandroid backup?

On a note, I had to use the FlashRec method..

i think im running on cyanogen recovery...
hahah.... can i just reflash and change the console again?

Added on November 22, 2009, 3:39 pmi already completed the whole guide.
Great feeling! Thanks...

now my rom is 2.8 modacocustomrom-core-chinese
is this the correct version that should be showing?

There are some issues i found with the new rom:

1. it seems i cant connect to the mobile network after flashing the new rom.
and the mobile network indicator is not showing afterward.
i tried to re-select the Network operator.
but still the same.

previously was running fine.
any idea?

Added on November 22, 2009, 5:41 pmI found out the problem.
it's becoz of the APN setting.

in previous rom, the APN was set,
thus i can online without touching them.
new rom i have to add new APN for the connection.
it's OK now!

Thanks thanks
