Well, its rare, but I suggest you try the goldcard method then..Usually, flashrec.apk solves this problem..do update here for reference of other users..i would suggest you re-do the whole process once again though.. Added on November 26, 2009, 11:41 pmThose downloading files, please hold on if you are unable to download them. I am uploading the latest pack for everyone There will be some changes in the tutorial too so I suggest you hold off until I update the files. Added on November 27, 2009, 1:50 amUpdated..New files uploaded Have fun..To those who are running 2.8, you can upgrade to 2.9 without wipe This post has been edited by shahz: Nov 27 2009, 01:50 AM

Remove those DS_STORE files. I use mac and it generates those files automatically..if u are using win7,try the same procedures. If u can find 'environment variables', then it will work. Win 7 is the only is i didnt play android sdk on. I gave up on windows after their lousy vista

I think i made it clear in the guide. In your sd card without a card reader. Just use ur hero cable. That will do.

Guys, try out the guide first and be daring. Many people have succeeded already. I camt make this guide any simpler now. If you have a tougher question ask that..

Well, in the system variables, there may be several others already separating thhe previously installed variables. Check out how they are separated. Thats the best i can guide on that since i dont have win7 do let us know about it so we can add it up in the first post too..

Leviathan, thats the one he meant. But he's using win7, maybe there are some changes in win7? Are ur screenshots from vista or 7? If its 7,that answers his question

Eh? USB driver? This is getting a lot more confusing. You don't need any drivers as far as I know. It uses the standard usb.inf file to connect. Nothing extra at all. In fact, its just like connecting the SD card directly to the computer. Isx, try Leviathan's method and see if it works for you. Adding Android SDK should be very easy actually. Good Luck~

When you root your phone, you definitely have to wipe your phone at least once. Once you are on the MoDaCo ROM, updating does not require a wipe

Yes.. Added on December 3, 2009, 6:50 pmI will be testing the 3.0 before updating it here. Don't want to risk other follower's phone. To those who want to test it before hand, feel free to get it from MoDaCo's site. There is nothing much changed actually. Only thing that concerns me is the Teknologist's 1.9 update. Added on December 3, 2009, 6:53 pmIsx, I just saw your response. Actually, there is no need to upgrade AmonRa as long as its serving its purpose. but your phone is already rooted, so by right I believe you can easily apply the image. As for the radio, its the file with numbers in the archives This post has been edited by shahz: Dec 3 2009, 06:53 PM

its a very long explaination dude..Read about "Linux kernels" and you will understand..Teknologist is the person who made the modded kernel with compcache and ramzswap..

yeah..wanna try something even better? Try this.. Load your phone messages..Click "new" message (whether u use the built in message or handcent sms is up to you. I use handcent).. Then, click the test area..Check out how the keyboard loads.. Wait.... Now flip it sideways...Surprise...No lags!! They did a FAWSOME job on 3.0! If there are no issues, I will upload this on a couple of days

Hehe..its dare to try thingy I love HTC SenseUI..And the HTC widgets are just awesome..I dont think I need snapdragon already when Hero runs at this speed..I will only buy next when something really important is available on another phone which Hero does not have..So far Hero has everything..hehe..I hardly change phone as phones can't satisfy me easily..The last time I was excited with a phone was when I got the N95..Even today, N95 is a great phone..Ever since then, Hero is the only one who captured my attention..Or maybe I'm just Google's b****

No one will ever regret having a Hero now Teknologist really did a great job. The ramzswap memory is increased to 92MB. It shows significant difference. He's a guru when it comes to Linux ^__^

Hey Ashman, my main purpose to provide this guide was indeed to give birth to more people like you I'm no Android guru or whatsoever. I was once a newbie like everyone who landed on this thread too. Its something totally new in our country and I feel good being among us as the first few to get our hands on this new awesome creation by Google. Just remember friends, we learn things the hard way and we definitely pass a point which one day someone else will be there too. Now that you guys know much about it, spread the love to more people. And always remember this day you once learnt something new Cheers to Android.

Wireless tethering is still not that efficient up to 2.9. However, on 3.0 it finally is starting to get some hits

Are you on MoDaCo 3.0 or 2.9? If you are running 2.9, the 3.0 will be significantly speed up for you..i'm testing it now to make sure everything works perfectly and no bugs..So far the wireless tether has finally lifted up too! It is normal to have that amount of memory..That's the game of Teknologist's kernel. It uses compcache RAM compression techniques to build blocks of compressed memory..If you want to read about it, this is a great post to do so: http://android.teknologism.org/compcache/My home screen is full of widgets..Including downloaded widgets and bandwidth using widgets..My total phone storage memory is 66MB and my RAM is 51M. I suggest you use TasKiller to kill all the proceesses you dont need. Kill ALL that you dont need. Like for me example, I use GMail, and dont use the Mail. It launches automatically, so I kill it. Clear all of unused ones, and you will get enough RAM

To all subscribers, i will upload a file maybe tonight. You can apply this to teknologist kernel 1.9. If you are running modaco 2.8 or 2.9, you will have to apply teknologist kernel 1.9. To those running MCR 3.0, you will already have teknologist kernel, but can apply the tweak too. It improves battery and memory management..
