That's not a problem at all. I tried my best to keep it as understandable and followable as possible. My Hero was among the very first few builds too, and didn't require goldcard method. But along the line, I did root some with goldcard method and they were flawless with my tute too. Wanted to put it up, but then, I realized more people were learning (just like you did) and I already had posted enough stuff to kick the ignition. SO I didn't include it in.

shayppp, apparently that is what I have realized too..Those who venture into Android, Hero is a great start, and in the end they get the Nexus One..It applies to me too..

Some leaped the Hero step and went straight to Nexus One..Maybe that explains why the N1 community is growing faster smile.gif Nevertheless, Android is Android..Regardless of the phone we own..

I did try it back in those days, it was working..Come to our forum in www.legendroid.com i have moved my support for Hero to that community..We can teach you how to get Android 2.1 on your Hero wink.gif

Yeah, Papago for 2.1 is still in development. It will be out anytime soon though, and since 2.1 official release is still not out, I suggest you keep using 1.5 then smile.gif

Yes, now that you have root, you can switch around easily..To backup, use an efficient backup utility like nandroid and Titanium Backup..They will come very handy smile.gif If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here..

Downgrade? I don't get what you mean. You can just use the Universal Androot to root your phone and this should work for you after that smile.gif

I no longer use HTC Hero..I use the Nexus One now..But its possible to upgrade..There are several ROMs for Hero 2.1 actually smile.gif

Nope..this one applies only to HTCs mostly..For Milestone, they have their own methods..
