hi all , i juz bring my wira 1.3 for service yesterday. I requested the mechanic to shift my rear tyre (new) to the front (old) ... i expected him to shift the 2 rear tyre to front , but today when i go check it out , he actually only shift the ONE Rear left tyre (new) to front only ...

which mean that my new tires are in right side. left side tires are all old 1....

is wat he done is correct ?
*
wrong liao ... its not the correct method ...

Its the same with any car, engine braking is one technique to help slow down the car, no matter you using manual or auto, it can be applied

Cheeann, that day you told me that my car gain additional weight when you were pushing my car back and forth for the alignment, I found out the answer for you. My rear left brake jammed again.....when you take out the wheel, don't you feel its hot or burning smell?

I suspect its the whole damn caliper problem, since I did caliper service three times to it over 1 year...Siensss
*
its time to change ... icon_idea.gif ...

brake jam serious problem le ... better get it checked ... might be just calipers stuck and put some oil, service abit should be no problem ...
all this is worth it regardless on the amount to fix, as long as it keeps ur life safe ...

my car still having this vibrating crap ... thx to cheeann, its not so serious now but still irritates me ... doh.gif

I know its a serious problem but it made me so mad because I did servicing for the rear left brake like a lot of times within a year

1st by maddriver, then okay for a while, kena again, then did the service again at a workshop near mah place, okay, then struck again, then did again the service to both rear calipers to ensure both sides are working properly then couple of months down the road, the rear left jammed again

Its always the rear left, bloody crap!!!

Now scared to drive mah car adi, vibrations are annoying

Added on November 16, 2009, 10:36 amLast time for my auto, 120km/h-130km/h estimated near redline liao
So normally take corners, brake plus downshifting to 2 around 120km/h

Because not over redline so engine no problems, just scared GB nia, but touch wood before even change to manual, all okay biggrin.gif

oh liddat. actually i hunted for 1.6MT but it is hard to find maybe they all hiding the car from me  sad.gif
finally settled for the 1.5 due to time constraints. but so far, 1.5 still OK la. maybe someday when the engine age too much, i'll implant a 1.8 from proton also (MMC ones i cant afford!)
*
4g93p is good engine ... s.GTi's stock engine ... but its rare, hard to find nowadays ...

eh alvin, i tot u already fixed tat problem along with the "mati engine suddenly" issue? sorry to hear about it sad.gif
your jerking, is it the same as using too high gear to climb uphill kind? like engine almost wanna mati, but still alive?
maybe u sud install a vacuum gauge and ask someone how to read it. then u can monitor wats wrong with u car.
when stuck traffic jam = hot engine bay = hot air enter ur U-snorkle (its behind headlamps)
maybe something to do with ur air intake/sensor? just guessing la, dun scold me
wah, the mech so KNS? if can be fixed by rm1 k (overhaul) why he suggest ur fren to change engine?  doh.gif
farked up workshop, better warn others to avoid.
fulamak... i naive, i tot proton engines are much much cheaper. if 7k, i think i'd just change car liao, seriously.
if u say around 3-4k, still can la, dump in 1.6 engine or something, maybe even the 1.8 for wira?
i salary-men, where got so much spare cash to spend on my beloved car?  cry.gif

just to share: check out his racing lines. late apex most of it, nice!

*
this time not mati engine ... its more like misfiring ... my friend says its ignition coil overheat ... but i am not sure also, ask some mech they also scratch head ...

the fella total car nut la ... mech say ok he also follow ok ...

how much for 4g92p and mivec? ...
masao, since we r on 4g15 ... we stroke it to 1.6 nia .. haha

its also a possibility that the brake pads are reaching it limits soon ...
get ur braking system checked ...
if the pads is still usable and u don wan change yet, then make sure ur brake fluid is at required mark .. need to monitor at least once a week... things to be aware of, when ur brake pads reaches it limits, it will have screeching sound when u brake ...

QUOTE(masao343 @ Nov 17 2009, 10:11 AM)
yes u r rite, most ppl advertise "lady owner" as in "car in good condition" but we all should know better la.
guys can "sayang" their car more, u know. but guys tend to drive a little more aggressively (again, in general, not say 100%) compared to ladies.

haha, u are so right about the comment ladies like to make "eh that day already serviced".
when they say service, they think EVERYTHING is fixed during the service  sweat.gif

Added on November 17, 2009, 10:15 am
guys, during engine oil change, the "oil sump" drain screw-hole has started to lost its "threads" (the bunga botak). currently i using seal to make sure engine oil wont leak. how much is it to replace the entire oil sump base plate for 4G15p?
i dont like the idea of sucking our old engine oil with vacuum pump. like not clean liddat.
thanks
*
i think a guy's ride is always better than a ladies' ride, but this of course varies la ... some guys like my friend car nut case, wats happening to the car also dunno ... back to topic, guys tend to sayang their more as in tend to things that needed repair/fix b4 it blows .. haha
about car service, guys would change right on time or abit early/late .. but girls will be like "eh i drive extra 1k km also no problem, continue ba, today need go shopping with my gurlz no time service" ... laugh.gif

if i am not wrong, changing that whole oil sump base cost a bomb ... normally wat ppl do is just change the drain screw ... change to a magnetic one would help ur engine to be cleaner in a long run ....

QUOTE(sqwerk2 @ Nov 17 2009, 10:45 AM)
guys, juz wanna ask sumthing.

i did top overhaul last 2 months or so. things are fine, but there is one thing tht kinda bugs me. whenver the car was left idle for a very long time, say, 8 hours like tht. when i start the engine, i will warm the engine up before moving. after the engine have been warmed up, when i turned on the AC, there is this squeking sound of the timing belt. i noticed this for quite some time already, then one day i decided to open the hood and see it.

i look at the timing belt rotation speed, it was ok at first, then i tried turning on the AC, then the soudn appears, i also noticed that the speed of the timing belt has dropped and turned a bit slower before i turn on the AC. i asked my mech, he said it could be the crank pulleys and need to change it.

however, the sound is will not appear after the engine is fully warmed up and i've been driving it for a while even with the AC on. so, just wanna ask u pros here, can u guys tell me wat is wrong? i got think of spraying some lubricant to the pulleys, will it help? sorry for the long post.
*
no worries ... from wat i read, its just ur fan belt ... once its warmed up it wont have sound ..
just ur fan belt loosen la, u can either tighten it or wait for it to have a long high pitch 'geak geak geak' sound then change ... if i am not wrong, our wira have 3 belts which cost around RM20 for one ...

my ride also have this ngeak ngeak sound during a cold start ...after 15mins or so no sound throughout the day liao ... but then of course, i might be wrong coz i dont know wats the actual sound of ur case ... checking with a few different mechs will confirm it (pretend stupid when u ask) ... good luck biggrin.gif
