The beercan doesnt seem to be that SHARP.. at even at F5... but still useable.. n acceptable. I think it is best used for Closeup potrait..

clivengu: whats the shutter speed for the picture?

don't know why when I save the picture and check the exif... it shows focal at 18mm  sweat.gif

since I think that image tend to get a bit blurry if the shutter speed is less than focal length... (theoretically tongue.gif)
*
Which picture do u mean?
OHHhh I know what u mean oredi.. laugh.gif for your info...u wont able to get the exif from my pictures.. hahaha.. bcause im using A same photoshop File to do all my watermark... so all my photos that i did the watermark.. will have the same exif as the one I first used the photo to open... My photos taken using A700 but u check all my photos exif it will show A100 whistling.gif

ceh... no wonder  tongue.gif

well then maybe you can just tell the focal length and shutter speed for each picture? tongue.gif

I don't know also... since I upgraded to a700... it feels like my a200 can perform better in term of metering...
since when I use a700... it tends to underexpose alot and most my picture need to set exposure +0.3 or 0.7  sweat.gif

maybe it's just me though  doh.gif
*
Hahaha sorry to make u confused.. i think i need to workout a way to keep my photo exif the way they are..

Me on other hand, opposite than u.. i usually find my A100 underexposed... n the A700 just ngam for me. smile.gif

clivengu: Like pic 8. what setting do you use for pic 8? r u using bounce flash? can see shadows on the plate?
*
No flash.. I prefer not to use any flash in restaurant .. scare will disturb other ppl laugh.gif .. but there is a very Bright spotlight on top of each table.. tats why there r shadows . Is there an easier way to Copy the exif n paste? rather than .. Check the exif n Type it here one by one?

hi, mind share the price u guys get for SAL50mm f1.4 ?
i got offered here in Ipoh for RM1100, how much can get in KL area?
*
Will try grap a few pic from my 50mm F1.4... is still my beloved lens of all time.

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Nov 16 2009, 12:10 PM)
Yeah...I think that the beercan shot are all not that sharp.  I still cannot decide whether I should buy a Beercan becauase I already have the SAL18250.  The other lens I really wanted now is the Tamron SP AF90 DiMacro.

Beercan Vs Tamron SP AF90 DiMacro?  Which one should I go for?
*
For me.. The beercan produce very nice bokeh & colour is excellent.. Sharpness is not up to what i want...is generally quite soft.. event pump up to F5.6, The Corner sharpness are even worst... But right now i do enjoy having this lens as it bring me to a new level of distance that i can nvr reach b4 this thumbup.gif The power of this lens is its soft nice bokeh.. it makes the subject standout nicely n (make it look sharper)... I wouldnt use this lens if there is no way for me to hav a blur background... I really wish Sony can come out with SAL 70210 F4... with much better improvement in IQ

here are some new shots i tested today... with some pp Smart sharpening.. the sharpness is acceptable..

Actually I pumped up the in camera settings... hehehe... saturation +2, sharpness +3 and Contrast +2.. I'd say it's more oversaturated... tongue.gif but I like it! biggrin.gif
There's a sigma 90mm f2.8??? need to check dyxum already... tongue.gif

*
Sit Down n eat together! hahhaa.. if u r invited (not as photographer).... must eat as much as ur angpow.... ok just kidding...

i think is a good time to do some candid shots... d bride.groom will not eat much one.. after a while u'll need to prepare ur UWA angle to do the "YAM SEH!!" shots from table to table...

QUOTE(ieR @ Nov 17 2009, 12:13 AM)
well, travel to a dark place first. what u need is F2.8, u need lots of power to absorc the light, u dont plan to use higher iso then 400, and shutter speed longer then 1sec (heats up the sensor)

if u are using F2.8, u sure need so shoot at wide then zoom, because u need the best DOF possible.
*
Oh.. I thought i a long shutter speed is needed to capture the trail of the meteor like 30 sec or even minutes... So u r suggesting 1sec with F2.8 n as low iso as possible...?

QUOTE(albnok @ Nov 17 2009, 12:15 AM)
Thanks albert.. i think if im going to shoot.. i'll need to go out at 4pm. to find suitable place.. my problem probably is .. there is no dark places around my area in city.. i thought of going to a taman residential park.. should be super dark.. but safety bcome a concern tongue.gif

QUOTE(ieR @ Nov 17 2009, 12:15 AM)
i'd choose 17-35mm F2.8 then 50mm F1.4 because 50mm F1.4 has terrible DOF at infinity.

Unless, it is not 90degree upward, maybe i would shoot sidewards, at near the horinzon line... (20-45degree to horizon) if the (question below) then i would use 50mm shooting toward horizon.

btw, it's on the northen or southen or middle of earth when it hits? lol
*
Not sure d direction le.. i think d best is if can find an empty land.. with no building whatsoever surrounding it.. Lay ond grass.. n enjoy.. FUyooh.. thr seems to hv no such place in kl.. whistling.gif

I just went to try the 70300G F4.5-5.6... TAT the Sharpness i wan... but trying indoor kinda hard to tell at iso 1250... but definately can See d power of G... Another good thing is... ITS EVEN LIGHTER than Beercan! though d crazy hood size might be a problem. rclxub.gif

im not working tomorrow.. so i think i wanna try shooting it.. but there are 2 things which bugs me..

1. Clouds
2. My location.. I dont have a wide view from my pool side.. Im trying to think of some safe place to set up the gear and wait..

LOL i also wish i was somewhere not in the city.. the view is better.. darker and the skies are clearer..
*
Go to Broga Hills up there.. sure dark enough! hahaha.. cant do anything with the clouds though..

clivengu: The beercan is already sharp at F4, but even better at F5.6. Unless you're using too slow a shutter speed (1/200s would be a good safe speed to have.)

I found the 70-300mm G to be equally sharp.

lildaredevil906: I was outdoors for a bit at 5:15pm and didn't see anything other than lots of clouds. They seem to say that it happens twice (5pm 17 Nov +800 GMT and 5am 18 Nov +800 GMT).
*
Oh.. but i feel like is still not sharp enough for me.. at 100% la.. mayb later i post an example without any sharpnening of 100% crop n an overall. mayb there r different beercan with different performance?
