lol...im in the same ship as u bro...couldnt decide..but the one thing thats holding me back is the weight...it'd be great if i can actually get 1 on my hand to try n feel it TT_TT
btw..ever compare btwn tamron vs sigma vs sony 70200 if price is an issue???i heard quite some good words on sigma...
7MDH around 19x sgd
*
I actually went to sony to get hold of the 70200G+ 135mm F1.8 myself... n i must say is really heavier than i thought. but focusing is DAMN SMOOTH+SILENT n fast. (compare to Prime 135mm F1.8)..

Just the weight... shakehead.gif with the lens attached to body.. Is omost impossible to held it with just one hand on the camera body...with beercan still can... Eventhough is a fast lens, but actually handling the lens itself will oredi slowing down.

If i go for the 70200 F2.8 im pretty sure i'll get the Sony one. Afterall it is the Pride of Alpha thumbup.gif ... Sony + sony lens should hv the best output. Eventhough more expensive than tamron/sigma.. but is much cheaper than the Nikkor.

Well for me. The beercan didnt turn me on while I was using a200. BUT once i changed to a700 , turns me on like mad! Focusing speed wont lose much compared to SSM or HSM. Well in my eyes la. (:
*
Same thing here.. when im using A100..it hardly impress me.. mayb i now with A700 i can easily boost up iso up to 1250 without major sacrificing the photo quality... only can see the real potential of that lens. ohohoh.

wanna ask all sifus here...how to achieve the star shape or "X" shape lens flare when shooting directly into the sun??is it by using the smallest aperture possible?i've tried that but it gaves me nothing but a still pic of bright light...

How bout using a special filter? I've seen sm1 using a filter that has many tiny wires crossing each others.. & the effect will be star-star flare on every light source.. not sure is it tat u wan. tongue.gif

The took off the lens from the body and just turning the focusing ring for about 10 minutes. Put it back and WOOHOO! Its good to go like normal! (:

you'll notice got a plane fly over. =.=
*edit: as requestedm setting to shoot. more like technique.

i was looking for the south or north pole, iether poles, where we will get circular trails (see the right end corner, see the curve?)

to shot this, i DIY a shutter remote. using old cdrom CDMA cable (aka audio cable)... plug it into the remote plug of the alpha, hold all three cable contact together to activate shutter.

the setting i use to capture it is, BURST mode (so that the shuttle will continue after each shot, used the DIY shuttle remote to hold the shuttle), F2.8 (need max light, and prevent using high iso), iso400, 15 sec (long enough for the buffer to save the previous photo). i shot about 80 photo, combine them in photoshop using the "lighten layer"
*
Hey NICE TRY!!!!! really a good 1st attempt.. I'll wish to see more tries... mayb shoot at a wider angle.. then u can get almost a semi circle? That plane tat ruin ur photos kinda funny.. but interesting story behind the photo tongue.gif I donno how u do the DIY shutter remote... but is it on a timer mode.. or u have to shot at ur on timing?

Im thinking to do a timelapse of sky one day..

yeah, a timer would be possible, but much more complicated. you would need a timer board to control the time, and a programmed microcontroller to issue command to trigger the shutter switch when detects signal from the timer. i can only say this much, coz my programming sucks.. i can draw out the command flow in diagram, but someone would need to convert that into C or C++ etc etc... LOL

and that thing would most likely need an external battery pack
*
rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif I should be studying engineering then i can diy everything myself tongue.gif

To get a external timer.. need rm 100-200 unsure.gif
