not forgeting F58 was the only flash that can even bend -ve 15 degree to shot marco!~~~~~ (saying 0degree is straight front) and with such precise TTL control, ur marco also wont become overexpose~~ F58 i think has the smartest WB exposure AI~
used to play with canon 580exII, erm it tend to rely on the canon's iso a lot, so the flash i not sure is really not so powerful or the iso is the one compasate it lack of exposure~ summore it cannot withstand the weight of the garyfong bowl thingie, coz the lock is at 90degre or 0 degree, so u garyfong it at 75degree, it will fall down... *edit: garyfong = lambency diffuser Added on October 29, 2009, 1:03 pmSigma 17-70 2.8-4.5 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by ieR: Oct 29 2009, 01:03 PM |

QUOTE(albnok @ Oct 29 2009, 02:08 PM) clivengu: Refer to page 1 on how to reduce the effect of the WL flash signal from appearing in your pictures. The WL flash signal is always the same power no matter what EV/flash EV you have, but your settings can affect how strong it appears. opps my bad... Example of how it could work: F8 ISO200 1/40s (darker aperture, slower shutter speed for ambient light.) Increase your distance from the subject also. ieR: The F20 is RM499 retail lah it does not reach RM600! QUOTE(lehtung @ Oct 29 2009, 02:19 PM) pricelesssssss.... |

if u are planing for wedding/product even portrait, reconsider for tammy 1750 F2.8, for 1.5k,
although some will say the 1.4/1.8 is very much different with F2.8, my experince with 50F1.4, wedding assignment, i dont use 1.4, as the bokeh is too much, usually i will use F2.0-2.8, as for product, i uses from F2.8-F8 depending, F1.4 dof is too shallow when going close up. but, many claim that 50mm prime has very very high IQ(sharpness) then tammy and i agree (tammy iq is better then kitlens), but with all the photo that we going to resize to 800px (or 1024px) to upload or develop out (only req 2mp quality)... our >10mp pic wont matter anyway. as for the flash issue, do u often shoot at night? or mostly daylight? i) if daylight/outdoor, and sucker for bokeh, tammy or 50mm way to go... if on perform so so indoor, unless u have A550/700/850/900 for it's marvelous iso800-3200. A380 and below, thier iso800 are just not really brings out the sharpness of 50mm ii) but if u are night shooter/lowlight/indoor...you MUST get flash first, always flash, not because of WL or bounce or marco etc, but because, once u get it, any lens u purchase later, the lenses will benefit from it. my 2 cent of experince so, depend on ur shooting style Added on October 31, 2009, 10:36 amnaruto-kun~~, why not bring ur camera along and test kao kao? fast fast lor... QUOTE(wuszhtag @ Oct 31 2009, 11:19 AM) btw can anyone please help enlighten me whats wrong with the pic? i got the feeling that the it was overexposed and the background quite dark. first, i think u activated vivid color, thus the red is very deep red (not excately overexpose)play thru the exposure -+g. i direct the flash to bounce off the ceiling. shutter speed 1/60, f 4.0, spot metering. iso 100, +0.3 EV. ![]() as for the flash, open up the white card (diffuser) to push a little light into the front) as for the background, well, learn the bouncing ball technique, at which angle the light goes up the ceiling, at what angle it comes down... the light is almost impossible to brighten up the whole room (unless u have high ceiling), maybe u can try the buildin wideangle diffuser plate... or, boost ur iso to 400 to able to absord the background light(dont worry bout the flash, it will auto adjust not to overexpose) *edit: oh, MechaHerc was right, i didnt notice u wrote spot metering, use the multi metering or centre. Spam image... well not as geng as clivengu's.... just a shot i did yesterday for a piano school for their 'piano circle', like a small performance.
also, to show the power of tamron 17-50 F2.8, somewhen in the middle of the shooting, the batt of my flash went out, didnt expect it to run out so fast, went reach home only knew i brought the wrong sets *edit: the color are warm because of the lighting in the room was 3 holegen tungsten little spotlight on the grand piano, and they prefer the color as it, so i used color gel to fire soft warm color. forgive me for the White Balance issue as it's client's request. ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by ieR: Nov 1 2009, 12:27 AM |
