50mm Usually is my best friend to shoot food.. large aperture = more lighting = faster shutter speed = no need flash kekeke.. but.. will hav to stand up to get a better angle.

& my friends will wait very impatiently for me to quickly finish taking so they can start makan! tongue.gif has bcome a trend when go out

The 135mm is so BIG n heavy!! im more poisoned by your Beercan tonight!!! last time try A100 with beercan, i cant really experience the lens performance.. i wasnt poisoned by that time.. now i finally understand (A700+beercan= SUPERB!!!)

QUOTE(ieR @ Nov 4 2009, 12:36 AM)
for those who thinks A200/300 focusing system is terrible, or tamron so called 3rd party lens, and lenses that make ur machine works below par performance.

and u arent me, so u wont know how i feel. my camera have backfocus problem since DAY 1, send to sony centre twice, they DID NOTHING.... nothing i focus ever is in focus. but due to practise, i manage to use my head/mind and body to compasate it, by adjusting my body everytime i shoot, to get accurate focus.

maybe because, u guys been playing with good accurate machine this while, thus u may had set the "margin" of performance at a little higher, thus a small misfocus or problem, u think ur camera is not up to it.

for me, i brought a faulty body. sony didnt fix it for me. so i live with a terrible result, thus i created a low performance 'margin' so everytime i shoot something resulting sharp and nice, i am very happy and think that the camera is doing it's best.
2 week ago, thanks to CLIVENGU who guide me to open up my camera and tweak/calibrate it. now everything i shoot is accurate, even without flash attach for its illuminator. this is a miracle, the machine perform wayyyyyy better then expected. wayyy pass my old 'margin' now my camera felt like a new A310, replacement for my A300 with more accurate focus!.

"cover my eye to shoot also sharp like needles."

Hahaha. is amazing right? is like suddenly from 1.0cc Kancil bcome Honda Civic 2.0cc! Power up! Every pictures seems Useable & worth keeping!

Looks Great! rclxms.gif

Guys, wanna ask some advice... I currently couldnt decide between this 2 lenses..

1. Minolta Beercan 70-210 F4 vs
2. Sony 70-200G F2.8

I nvr hv any much experience shooting with tele lens... so i cant really tell how much can the F2.8 on the G lens benefit me... here is my understanding of the 2 lenses:

1.70200G F2.8
Benefit:
a) F2.8... shooting indoor make much possible.. (but was it sharp at F2.8 or hv to up to F4 to hv that acceptable sharpness?)
b) Superfast focusing speed... made shooting motorsport... (seriously i only been to Sepang for 1 time... whistling.gif )
c) The G lens Imagequality??? (does it really make a lot of difference?)

Disadvantages:
a) Super heavy... definately cant bring it around without A Purpose!
b) Super bulky.... need new bag to carry it around.. Feel like VG is a must when shooting potrait.
c) Price!!! although cheaper than Canon/Nikon... but is still x5+ more expensive than Beercan
d) White.. I don really like being overly Attractive with my gear!

2. Minolta Beercan
Benefit:
a) F4.. Constant aperture is wat i need.
b) Lighter n slimmer than 70200G... making it possible to bring it around...
c) Nice creamy bokeh? I din compare with 70200G side by side.. so cant really tell d difference...same thing with the IQ
d) Cheaper

Disadvantages:
a) no new lens, meaning condition of the lens hardly known
b) not F2.8 of course.. making shooting interior harder.
c) Slower Focusing speed.

My usage: I think most of the time will be shooting Potrait & livestyle & animals. Stalking ppl? sweat.gif Motorshooting is not really my thing... hv strong interest in shooting wedding. What u guys think? Beercan.. if can find i can get it anytime.. 70200G.. need more savings.... probably fastest oso mayb as Christmas gift for myself sweat.gif

U must have set to "Continuous Focus" instead of "single focus", either that..or u could hv turn the "ti ti" sound off (which i think hardly the case as it need it need to access into the menu setting to do tat)

QUOTE(albnok @ Nov 5 2009, 10:47 PM)
clivengu: The bokeh is great on the Sony 70-200mm F2.8G SSM as well. And yes the beercan is slower but is alright on the A700. The F2.8 focuses to 1.2 meters while the beercan does 1.1 meters. The F2.8 is 1.4 kg while the beercan is <800 grams. The beercan is very invisible with a 55mm filter thread while the F2.8 is obvious.
*
Thats more than half a kg difference..hvnt include the difference in size.. sweat.gif

QUOTE(OldKidz @ Nov 5 2009, 10:49 PM)
i tried both lens before,
zoom lens isnt my type of shooting, i rather move here and there.
y not think bout 135 f1.8? tongue.gif
*
actually i did!!! im quite a prime lense lover.. but but but... it oso means less flexible.. ahaha.... hard choices when comes to expensive lenses.. if cheap still can just buy n try.. haha
