the test was in conclusive or pausable... cause the sb600 is already overheating when he test it with imedion, ask the tester to use 2 sb600, then only it's fair.

summore, the battery heats up when firing, if they can add somekind of heatsink on the sb600 to cool down the battery averagely, it prooves better as, noone continous fires a flash for 1500 shoots LOL.

maybe they can test it with metz (the one with fan in the flash head) or a 580ex2 since 580ex2 uses cheaper lighter plastic so help the cooling and cycle process. *edit, wait, maybe they cant use 580ex2, coz the plastic might melt even faster... @.@

so this means the problem im having now (the color of pics in the LCD doesnt match the real thing/pic in the PC) is solved?!
*
oh, i just realise u have lcd problem. well, try read/see the lcd under a bright light, see how it differ?. i think A550 has the auto adjust brightness thing on the lcd, where during bright light, it goes brighter, and in the dark it go softer thingie. see does that helps? i am not sure, just guess if it was cause by it

ehahae two body already big enough lo..........

ier, D90 has better screen than the A550 meh? I see like so-so only worr
*
'

u missunderstood... i say the 550 has better screen then 3xx... the screen is as good as D90 (many review website say is better, but to me, i think they are a little bias coz sony fan?) it is the high resolution 900k pixel lcd like A700 and A900(850)

*edit: u see, because D90 has the high resolution lcd, during thier era, when they swing d90 around to show ppl what they shoot, the photo are so crisp that it give 'non-photographer' the idea nikon's camera are sharp, but they arent that sharp when load to pc. for crazy sharpness, go PRIME lens. ;P

thinking of getting the aplha A230L...around RM1799.... any comment or review on this for a DSLR beginner ?

how much the cost for a longer  zoom lens from Sony ?  icon_question.gif
*
just get it, if this is ur first camera, u wont even know what's missing from A200... tongue.gif VALUE FOR MONEY. zoom lens, look around, there is a lot people letting go thier lens as 2nd hand if u dont mind, the price of those 2nd hand will justifies it.

the SAL55200 kit lens - around 450-600 depending on wear and tear - recomended for it's IQ (sharpness)
the SAL75300 kit lens - not sure, check around, but not recommended
the KM70210F4 (beercan) - is around 800-1100 depending on wear and tear. - recommended for it's color+contrast+bokeh (double price of 55200)
the SAL70200G - hahahahahahahahaha, u can buy 3 set of A230L hahahahahahahahaha

Saw the SAL55200-2 DT SAM version selling at RM859 in Sony Style KLCC. Would this better than the original SAL55200 DT ?
*
well, from what i know, only A550 would benefit SAM's lens when used in AF-C (+burst), where it provide enough speed for AF. other then that, older AF sensor arent that smart to put the AF-C to the limit like A550 does.

check ur power saving option,

i too, get about 50% gone for 3 hrs, that if i leave it on, and well, every 15sec need to wake up the body to stand by to shoot, and review+zoom in for focus check.

sometimes, it last me more then 1000 pics (that is more then the battery specification) *winks* sometimes 400 pic batt habis....

i guess is ur pattern of use?

*edit: but still, getting another spare is good.... i got spare standby all the time wink.gif although i dont have a grip

ieR: One of my friends bought the 55-200mm DT SAM to compare to his 55-200mm DT. It was indeed faster in focusing. (However, he then sold the lens to his friend; it was just to test.) He does not have an A550.
what i read it that, on A550, shooting sport, continous with AF-C, u gain marvelous upper hand with SAM lens then the one the uses the body's the non SAM. on A3xx, it wont benefit from SAM as the AF-C are not fully mature/develop like A550, this SAM are not fully ultilise. so no much of benefits on A300 with SAM

just stating the best benefit on SAM lens wink.gif but having a extra SAM on my 55200 wont hurt tongue.gif

guys...my 1680 got fungus inside the lens dy....still under warranty...
shall i send to Sony now??
*
send send send, hahaha, but they only will do cleaning for u, they will not change lenses/glass for u, coz fungus are user inflicted. sad.gif

*edit: the service is good if follow the truth. sometime they give extra service. sometimes, they cant (especially when come to changing parts)

u can ask them change ur flash hotshoe also (loose) and tighten ur Amount, (like virgin when u first put ur lens in) etc

btw, all labour charge is FREE during warranty period. so including cleaning service is free. but when come to changing parts, they will call u and ask for comfirmation. for sabah sarawak, they get free shipping... biggrin.gif

when warranty finish, walao, the shipping from sabah sarawak alone can kill u

i heard even after removing the fungus from the lense, it will not perform as good as before anymore???
is that even a true statement??
*
it will affect contrast (which affect AF speed. AF accuracy), color. but it depends, maybe the fungus spot is at some corner not at the AF points, then it's not noticable. wink.gif

i dunno what u guys think, there is once i try a test with my drybox. i left it open, daytime, nighttime, days with A/C and without A/C. and raining days.

i dont know what the the % that encourage the fungus to grow, but let me tell u the result of the test above.

this reading is the % of the with the door of drybox opened.
=================Day Time ========= Nighttime
Hot day windows open ------ 60++ -------------------- 60++
A/C window closed----------- 50++ -------------------- 50-65++
Raining ----------------------- 70-80 -------------------- 80-90%

* even with closed drybox door closed, the AC will still bring the humid in drybox up by 2-5%, sometimes i see my drybox at 47%, which to me is fine.

i am quite surprised that the air cond dont really create moisture, but the metal will have moist on it. but it's dry enough.

seeing raining days humid is so high, i doubt u can even escape it from putting in a bag. NOR the humid-fier or moisture absorber could actually drop that 80% to anything near the safe 45%

if fungus are active at over60%, then 3 days of raining day will spawn spore of fungus in ur lens already. and who knows, if u put in ur closet, or someplace dark, it is wet (over 60%) all over the whole days.

some people my not think thier lens are not that expensive or worthy to get a drybox yet, until 70200G comes along. but imagine this. WHAT IF, THE SENSOR Gets Fungus? hoo hoo, i think is time for new present for christmas? a550 anyone?

i set to 42, its digital. i dont wan to set to under 40, because when i go to work, house AC not on, then below 40 might damage the rubber of the lenses.

Added on November 21, 2009, 12:57 pmmalaysia is not exactly 70%. because, look at the rubber/leather/cd/etcetc on our car that always dried up and spoil... its actually more dry then that, the 70 is if it's in the closet (dark and not exactly dry) and raining day will raise it to 80-90% (VERY wet) and u will feel the wetness of the air if it was really 70%

Added on November 21, 2009, 3:17 pmif u read in depth technical sheet of A550, it relies on its "buffer" to burst, it will stop at somepoint for 7fps RAW to process. but the 7fps jpeg is unlimited. of coz, get a decent card will do, dont get those really cheap ones. i need to dig out the technical sheet again to read to recall what's the number it can do, else, maybe albnok the walking encyclopedia could comment a little on the A550 buffer vs effect of high speed memory cards

* removed, choose to PM instead to get the fact straight. scare i scare him away tongue.gif

in 7FPS mode. the camera will preform a mirror lock up, which prevent any AF possible. and the 7fps mode, the camera will choose the constant settings from the first picture, meaning it will use the same exposure and af lock for the rest of the photo until u let go of the shutter release button.
