Hi,

Another option I am considering is to buy a piece of residential land and build my own house

However, I do not know how to find out who the owner is and if it is available.

I do not mean those bungalow lots on sale by developer

More like some time you see some empty land in the middle of housing area.

I was wondering if some how they are available or not

If available, how to find out who owns it so that he/she can be contacted to see if they want to sell or not

Thanks

How do i go about it then?

I use to build xxxxx on wherever suitable land that I see without knowing the land belongs to who, and my agents used to sort that out for me.. 2 methods... ask anyone living nearby or ask from land office..
How my agents talk to the ppl in the office and whatever procedure involved, I dont know, but they always done the job for me.
Good luck..

hi, i am from melaka. and i bought a land and built my house all by myself.

would like to tell u it isnt that hard but time and effort.
there is a couple ways to find out the land owner.
like eugene said through an agent is the easiest way since u not sure
where/who/how to approach at the first time.

wah, like that also can notworthy.gif

what if the owner don't like you building house on his land and wants you to tear it down? also i assume you need the majlis perbandaran approval for building a house. right?

if yes, they would want to see your geran of that land, wouldn't they?

that is one of the Straight way to get land owner awareness. but gonna be aware if the tenant or land owner might unhappy~
if that is a piece of abandon land or waste land. land owner might happy cos he saw someone would like to buy the land.

the xxxxxx could be a signboard or leaving something to get awareness~ this is subject to area biggrin.gif

Yeah, you might get into trouble with the landowner

not only get sued, but you might have to tear down the building you build
