Appreciate very much if you could let us know which brand of shuttlecocks you are using currently. Thanks.

Hi, I wish we could get at least 1000 votes to make this poll more accurate. Of course the more the better. Can all the badminton players out there help us to achieve this? We still have long way to go....

I think the best shuttlecock of RCL brand is RCL No.1, though the price is slighty higher, RM60++.

Thanks for your suggestion, I know about badmintoncentral...but I don't know how to create poll there. Somemore, the topic is Most Popular Shuttlecocks in Malaysia, if I post in badmintoncentral, it might not be all the voters are from Malaysia, whereas lowyat.net are mainly used by Malaysians. What I mean should be which brand of shuttlecocks you use most of the time.

Ya, you are right. We are talking about the most popular shuttlecock in Malaysia, not the best shuttlecock in Malaysia. Anyway, good to see that we have 21 votes now. Hope more and more votes are coming in.

Seems like until now the top 4 most popular shuttlecocks in Malaysia are RCL, Sealion, Protech and RSL.

TS, most popular usually doesn't mean the best, hope you aware wink.gif This is because people choose their shuttle base on their level of play, and most importantly the size of wallet. laugh.gif

Totally agree with you. I think the best shuttle is still the highest range of Yonex shuttles, but the price is not affordable for many people. So this topic is about the shuttle most people in Malaysia use.

Mind to tell which shop you got it for RM55 and which shop you got it for RM50? RM5 is quite a big difference for same model of shuttlecocks, unless they are in different locations where rental might be higher. Anyway, RM55 is quite common nowadays even for other brands of shuttlecocks which are in the same grade as Sea Lion 1101, such as RCL Titanium, Protech Masterpiece and RSL Classic.

The brand that I can usually find in Pertama complex is RCL, RSL and protech.

Is RCL better than RSL or Protech?
They are almost same price for the same quality range...

I think you have to try once RCL then only you can tell whether you like it or not. Of course, you have to compare with other shuttles of similar price range. Most people in Penang use RCL. Whereas Protech and RSL are more popular in KL.

I myself using RCL shuttlecocks, for those above RM50 one, their qualities are good, quite durable. Which shuttlecocks are you currently using?

Don't know why...seldom see people using RCL in KL, though it is so popular in Penang and Kedah. Is it relatively new in KL and seldom people wanna change shuttle once you are used to one brand? Anyway, to me the high range RCL shuttles are pretty good.

58 votes now...the top 4 still unchanged. And only 2 persons chose others. That means the major brands are all in the poll. The main purpose of this poll is to get more votes so that in future, it can be a general guide for people who wonder what shuttlecocks to buy, they can refer to this poll result because generally speaking, the shuttlecocks more people use means more reliable and more value-for-money those brands are.

I would rate Wilson Topline-20 the same as RCL Titanium but, the RCL is a bit heavier when hitting it hard so it gives you more precise to where u wanna placed your shot.. Been using RCL silver feather, seems too light for me..Would much prefer RCL official or Protech..biggrin.gif

I am not sure what your budget is and how much RCL shuttlecocks in your area. But if you got the chance, maybe you do want to try it if it is within your budget.

RCL is quite famous or else it wouldn't get so many votes in this poll too, not sure if it is available in your place or not. You can check out the link below

Ya, if I am not mistaken, 25 years ago, brands like Yonex, Carlton, Aeroplane were quite popular. But in these few years,RCL, RSL, Protech, Sealion are more popular, Yonex is still doing good but Carlton and Aeroplane are no longer popular. RCL is very popular in Northern Malaysia (if you have time to go to Penang, visit badminton courts there, most people using RCL), but I think RCL is relatively unknown in KL. But from the forums I read lately, seems like more and more people in KL/Selangor have tried RCL and the feedbacks so far are pretty good.

My friend gave me a new model called RCL Gold No.1 to test out last nite. The shuttle flied pretty good. Durability-wise might not be as good as RCL Titanium but it still lasted us two 21-point games per shuttle. The price is cheaper than RCL Titanium.

Last time I played with a Victor shuttle called Victor Championship No.1 (green color striping on white tube, with IBF approved Rating badge). The shuttle is really superb, but I think it is selling for around RM59-60 now. But this is really tournament grade shuttle smile.gif

i voted for yonex
but i played like few years back
and my choices of shuttle would be yonex

ts i wonder wad happened to yang yang and victor?
those were quite famous few years back in sarawak
my dad still uses them thou
i quite like yangyang
their flight path is way firm and they are very stable

i played victor gold silver and the green ones
gold is cheap but the feather easily breaks...
u get wad u pay for rite?
it all depends on how people his the shuttle too
some ppl juz hit them at the side
tat's why the feather break easily
green is much durable but more expensive

There are many RCL models in the market. Go for those around RM55 and RM60++. They are very durable.

Currently using RCL Titanium in most of my badminton sessions... occasionally RCL No.1 ... Tried it few months ago and found its durability and feeling are more than satisfying... Titanium lasted mostly bout 2 15pts game... like it so much and decided to sell and distribute it ard my area... so far mostly gettin positive feedback...

Used to be using RSL No.1 Tourney but the durability is much lower and quality not stable... same goes to Protech...
So after tried RCL Titanium... decided to stick with it... priced around RM56... affordable and since lasted long enuf... worth while...

Yes, give RCL a try. But I highly recommend you to buy RCL shuttles around RM55 to RM58, more worth it as they are more durable.

Hahaha..just shuttlecocks, why quarrel..smile.gif Even same brand also got different grades, but both RCL and Protech are good. Just that some people complain Protech quality not consistent. Anyway, why don't your group buy each brand 1 time and find out which one you like more?

What the seller told you, different packaging for different area/country, could be true. Price-wise, about the same depending on the sports shops.

I think most of the people use RCL Titanium are from Northern Malaysia. RCL Titanium is popular in Northern Malaysia. But you seldom see RCL Titanium in Klang Valley, because you have got different names for it like RCL Perfect.

I know in The Challenger (PJ, Cheras and Kepong), they do sell a model called RCL Titanium Gold which is over RM60, it should be a grade higher than your RCL Perfect.

Ya...RSL is leading. I think quality-wise, RSL is not bad, but RCL, Sealion and Protech are on par or even better. RSL is popular because it is widely available nationwide, good distributon network. Agree?

I personally recommend for RCL brand shuttlecocks (price as of current),

a.If you want shuttlecocks with good flight and acceptable durability, go for those above RM45.

b If you want shuttlecocks with good flight and excellent durability, go for those above RM55.

c. If you want shuttlecocks with excellent flight and excellent durability, go for those around RM65.

Close fight for RCL, Sealion and Yonex. RSL is still leading. Before that I thought the big 4 is RCL, Sealion, RSL and Protech. But the poll here shows that RCL, Sealion, RSL and Yonex are the true big 4, at least at the moment.

Most of players prefer to get shuttle in the range of RM55 and below, with that, currently, Protech offer the best value for money.

Those who had better budget goes for RSL and Yonex, butlately Li-Ning is making good progress as well with 15 shuttle tube!

Are you sure it is RCL Titanium? If I am not mistaken, the one you bought is RCL Platinum which is lower grade than RCL Titanium. Try to look for RCL Platinium Gold in the The Challenger. It is very lasting.

Sure, RSL Tourney Classic is 1 grade above RSL No.1. RSL Tourney Classic is same grade as Protech Masterpiece. Another choice you can consider is RCL Titanium which is of the same grade too.

RSL No.1 is 1 grade below. In the market, what I know is RCL Gold No.1 is same grade as RSL NO.1.

Is Yonex really that good compared to RCL, RSL? I mean quality-price ratio. Or just the brand name that people are looking for?

Protech shuttles are getting really shitty nowadays. I just tried rm58 Protech Masterpiece shuttles. I would never buy it again for sure cuz 1 shuttle can't even last 1 hard doubles game. Yonex or RSL shuttles above rm60 is the way to go. Best shuttles for people who think in the long run. brows.gif

Are you talking about RCL SM-1? If so, it is of the same grade with RCL Black No.1. So do you like RCL SM-1?

No, SP Ah Lee in Kuchai Lama now.

Try RCL Titanium from Ah Lee, he received quite good response from his customers so far.

The RCL distributor told me they got about 400++ different models.^^.Sometimes u might not heard of a few models stated by forumers because he said dont want the shop to have price war with another shop.Hope my english is understandable.lol.

Famous RCL shuttle are
Black Silver, platinum, titanium and black no1 and the green colour(forget the name).lol.

He also tell me to keep the shuttle in fridge as it can prolong the shuttle life, dont know how true is that.lol

i've tried to spray water into the empty tube with both covers removed, before putting back all the shuttles in (left 2 nights)

1st shuttle at the tube end lasted 5-6 matches with feathers intact and still able to fly out from court (2 hard hitters were playing- backhand clear to baseline), also my friend smashed onto my another friend wearing spectacle, breaking it by making a hole (front court to front court)

used RCL Black Silver (RM 61)

tried the same method on Protech World Class, with addition of spraying water on the feathers + shake dry, durable but the feathers keep getting out of shape after hitting each time (have to reshape), might be over moistened

there are a few other methods as well which I've yet to experiment

my personal experience:

used to like RSL Tourney Gold due to cheap price: Can bear probably until 15 points for hard hitters (RM48)

switch to Protech Masterpiece: Can tahan 1 full game forcefully for hard hitters (RM54)

tried Protech World Class: Can tahan 1 match half for hard hitters (RM58 i guess)

tried Protech Platinum: Durable than Protech WC but not more than 2 matches. Need to constantly fix back the feathers. (RM64)

recently tried RSL Supreme: i give 2 thumbs up! Can lasts 3 full match for hard hitters. If not 3, at least 2 and half. (RM61)

have not tried RCL, but any suggestion on which type of RCL that is durable and can last more than 2 matches? any feedback?

Seems like you are a hard smasher. I guess for RCL, only Black Gold and Black Silver can possibly last you more than 2 matches. Do give feedback if you have tried, I wonder how good RCL top grades compared to RSL Supreme.

I have tried Li ning with white tube and red wording 12+3 per tube. 12+3 for offer probably. I should say it was not durable and last less than a game. The feather was too soft I think. I bought RM47 if not mistaken. Never try this, waste of money.

I don't think RSL Gold is consistent, I always hear the quality up and down. By the way, I think very hard to get shuttlecock consistent throughout the year because of the weathers in China which decide the quality of the feathers from Summer to Winter.

So many people using Yonex, actually how is its quality compared to RCL and RSL for about the same price one? In my impression, I think RCL and RSL high-end one are about the same quality as Yonex AS-30, but at lower price. What do you think?

Been tried RCL Black Silver recently, the quality is superb! But the 'feel' is different from my usual protect masterpiece, world class and RSL no.1 Tourney.

Maybe the head of RCL is heavier is you notice the flight~ but I like it biggrin.gif

Try RCL Black No.1. If you can pay slightly higher, RCL Black Silver more durable.

Anyone interested to buy RCL shuttlecocks but cannot find in your area, can now purchase them online via Lazada. Minimum only 2 dozens, of course the more your purchase, the better price you get.

http://www.lazada.com.my/badminton-shuttlecocks/rcl/

Recommend to you Eliteworld 777 which is made from 1st grade goose feathers.

In shuttlecock term, 5 dozens means 5 tubes because 1 tube got 12 shuttles inside.

By the way, the promotion above is over. But you can take a look too at

YES, to West Malaysia it is FREE.
NO, to East Malaysia, it is NOT FREE, but I don't understand how Lazada computes the shipping cost to East Malaysia, SOMETIMES I see it is FREE.

I just want to correct the mistake I mentioned above. According to the link below

http://www.lazada.com.my/faq/#answer-faq-feecalculate-ans

Lazada offers free shipping throughout Malaysia; however, a shipping fee may be applied depending on your order:

East Malaysia - RM 25 shipping fees for orders below RM 80
West Malaysia - RM 15 shipping fees for orders below RM 75
Klang Valley - RM 15 shipping fees for orders below RM 70

If I am mistaken, the Order Value is the TOTAL of the items you order.
