Sorry if i had posted in the wrong section, i thought gaming headset should go along with gamers hideout section tongue.gif

Anyway, i think the alienware TactX does not have a usb sound because it costs around Rm 279 if i remembered correctly. The 5hv2 is Rm 300+ without the usb sound card.

Not much difference i guess except for the word gaming, which makes it overrated imo tongue.gif

or

Gaming headsets are optimized for games e.g. the 5hv2 is good for games (hearing footsteps/gunfire etc) but it sounds like sh!t for music.

That is indeed true if the statement is on the 5H v2. I owned the USB version, and it sucked hard when it comes to playing music. But it doesn't apply to the Razer Megalodon. Trust me, it's damn good in both games and music. And movies, esp. HD ones. Max out the volume and the headset rumbles from the bass. icon_rolleyes.gif

I did a short review, so pls feel free to check it out here.

But, i agree with you on one thing, though. They are overrated... laugh.gif

Well actually, i don't really like razer now because of their shitty products. Bought the goliathus and da, ended up selling it. Megalodon is kinda expensive as well. For that price, i can get a HD555 if i save an extra RM 100.

Headsets from both razer and ss are kinda overrated so it's very likely i will buy anything sound related from them. Thanks for sharing some info on the megalodon and 5hv2 though.

What about the plantronics gamecom 777? I heard from somewhere that it is better than the 5hv2 yawn.gif

Actually normal users should not go for gaming headsets. No matter how u say gaming headset is nth juz with the extra words gaming, they DO actually go into research and tuning of frequencies to get precise location of specific sound (*frequency) to allow gamers pinpoint opponent location easily.

Now, wad does diz mean? means there's no bass for your R&B songs and cinematic surround sounds for your HD movies, also terrible high pitch. So there's no point getting gaming headsets unless u are really into FPS gaming, like going to CS competition or TF2 or wadeva.

also, 5hv2's price has drop to under Rm300, so there's actually not much difference except for the oval alien avatar at both sides.
