Dear Jeff,

Greetings and glad to hear you are one of our satisfied customer. smile.gif Yes, if average balance fall below RM1,000, RM10 per 6 months is charged. Comparing to other banks, for current account we are still the lowest requirement to maintain RM1,000 balance and with minimum maintenance charges at RM10 per 6 months.
The hypermarkets are Jusco, Tesco, Giant, The Store, Carrefour, Parkson and Watson. Unfortunately econsave not included, but I can bring it up maybe in future smile.gif

But there is an annual fee of RM8 right ? Only the Priority Banking and Basic Savings/Current account debit cards are free.

Dear MilesandMore,

If you open PowerPay Savings Account and SaadiqSaver-i Current Account from my department (Employee Banking Solutions) there is no annual fee.

Thanks ! May i know what are the requirements to open PowerPay Savings Account ? Just credit our salary directly to Standard Chartered every month ?

Hi Milesandmore,

To open PowerPay Savings Account:

18 years and above
Salaried employee earning min RM1500 monthly

Documents: Photocopy IC only. If you would like to open a PowerPay account I will be glad to assist you. 0 deposit, 0 charges for 1st issue of ATM card, no maintenance charges. smile.gif

You can either advise your HR to credit your salary to SC, or you can online transfer your salary by yourself. Otherwise you can use PowerPay as your secondary account for savings purpose due to the high interest rate given (2.0% - 2.5% p.a). If you would like to find out more, don't hesitate to contact me.

hi muddie, I'm interested with the PowerPay SA. Few questions:
1) Is it COMPULSORY to credit my salary into the account or initiate online transfer MONTHLY?
2) Does it come with an ATM/debit card or just ATM only?
3) The ATM/Debit card is free for life?
4) The cash rebate of 7% for petrol is applicable for the above ATM/Debit card until end of Jan 2011?
5) Must I also open the Saadiq $aver-i account at the same time?

I'm currently holding e$aver account and also JustOne. Sorry for so many questions.

Hi Alex,

1) Nope, it is not compulsory but recommended for you to credit your salary into your account. You may use PowerPay as your secondary account for savings with high interest. The easiest would be online transfer from your payroll bank to SCB, otherwise through ATM, Cash Deposit.
2) It comes with a 2 in 1 ATM/Debit Card - free 1st issuance, RM8 for replacement.
3) Yes ATM card is free, no maintenance charges whatsoever.
4) The cash rebate for 7% petrol is only applicable if you open SaadiqSaver-i Current Account, yes valid till end Jan 2011.
5) No it is not compulsory, you may choose to open only 1 account or both at the same time.

Since you are already a SCB customer, you may consider opening PowerPay for higher savings return. If you need more info don't hesitate to call me.
