basic savings acc can hv 8 free withdrawal, but not sure whether can opt for debit card with that account

Wanted to get a PBB Electron card for my 13 year old son but the bank closes at 4pm which is about the time my son finnish school and also the card would only be sent like after a week or more. So today when to HLB this morning to get him Junior Prepaid Card. Card issued on the spot without needing my children to be present Also got the HLB prepaid card for my youngest daughter who is below 12. Reason for getting them debit card is mainly for their itunes account to purchase apps.

Just came back from HLB, deposited RM100 into account and when check balance, can withdraw up to RM90 only. I guess have to maintain minimum RM10 at all times like PBB Visa where need to maintain RM12.

What is the best debit card to buy Itunes products?

I am not over 18 yet.

My daughter 16 years old got Public Bank Electron where she can purchase apps with her iTunes account and puchase other stuffs (mostly clothes) online. Also you will note from previous posts here that this said card also can register for pay pal. However your parent/guardian need to sign the application form. The card will only be sent to you about 10-14 days time.

I got Maybank and ambank debit card. Both also cannot use for itunes. It keep shows decline. Any idea why?

Yes. You just need to be at least 12 years old to apply for any Public Bank debit cards. And yes, you can use it for online transaction. You can PM byronong to ask him to send you an application form via email. He works for Public Bank and he can help you to speed up the process

May be you entered the wrong information. If it's been locked, your should call their call centre to have the card unlocked.

News for Islamic Clients, just received and email from Public Bank regarding about Debit Cards Rebate.

HLB Junior Debit card failed to be used for iTunes. So called CS and was informed need to goto HLB online to "activate" online transaction for the Junior Debit card. So went to ATM to get Internet Pin but the stupid Junior Debit Card is not permitted to get internet pin. So called CS again and was told under 18 cannot get internet pin I have to register for HLB online under my name and then add my children HLB Debit Card into my account but I don't have HLB ATM or Debit card and was told cannot use my credit card to get internet pin.

So now I have to go to HLB branch to get myself an ATM or Debit Card in order to sign up online and "activate" my children HLB Debit Card for online transaction. Damn troublesome.

For those who want to do transaction online, just go get Public Bank Debit Card (anyone above 12 with IC can get one) and save all the hassle. Only thing about PBB Debit card is that it is not issued on the spot and takes about 10 -14 days to get the card.

By the way, was told by HLB CS that they issuing Priority Banking Debit Card soon.
