Yes. There is also this 1% admin fee charged on top of the converted amount.

Something like that. But one thing is that we do not know exactly what is the exchange rate until it is posted into your account and then you can do the maths yourself.

No one can really tell you this. Anyway, PLUS belongs to VISA International and based on the information provided by other people using their credit card overseas regularly. The rate after conversion from Maybank has been constantly lower than many other banks.

Yes. Of course you can. As a matter of fact, The Maybank VISA debit card has better acceptance than PBVE as some stores insist that VISA Electron is different and they do not accept the card. Happened to me before a few years ago at some stores in Mid-Valley.

Anyway, Public Bank also offer VISA debit card now which is virtually the same as Maybank VISA debit card. You can set the maximum purchase limit for Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card up to RM10,000/day and only RM5,000/day for Maybank VISA debit card. In terms of rewards, Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit is better too as it gives you 0.8% cash back on petrol purchases and 0.3% cash back on all other transactions while Maybank VISA debit give you only a pathetic 1 Treatpoint for every RM3 charged to the card (no Treatpoint for Petrol).

Both Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit and Maybank VISA debit are accepted at all stores displaying the VISA logo locally and overseas. Just make sure you've activated the card for overseas use at any Maybank ATM (not necessary for Public Bank).

Thanks MilesAndMore.

Is that a Maybank Debit Card required the Visa Verification, if yes, where we should register?

As I saw, the Maybank Debit Card do not have name printed.. but some of the online purchase required "name on the card" .. "card number"... "expiry date" and "CCV" .. If so, what we should put in the name of the card field?

VERIFIED by VISA. Just follow the instructions on the page.

Always put the account holder's name. It is the same with all other debit cards from other banks with no name printed on the front of the card.

You have to subscribe for e-statement in order to view all your transactions through e-statement. Once you subscribe for e-statement, you won't be receiving any printed statement from Maybank anymore. Anyway, all transactions in your account can also be viewed through your account transaction history.
