The reason they approved your order is probably because they were going to process your debit card offline, just like Amazon.com. They only found out it is not an American-issued debit card when they processes your debit card offline which is why they had to cancel your order.
*
So, how come Amazon didn't cancel my order like CK? Why CK is that strict on this matter? sad.gif Sedih..
This thing only applied to debit card? What about credit?
Hm, meaning that we can't get anything from CKJeans?

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Nov 1 2009, 05:17 PM)
No charge at all. You will need to withdraw it as cash advance but no worries, it is not a cash advance actually. When you are at the ATM, select cash advance and it will automatically dispense RM200 or RM250 but then the last time i did it was back in December 2007. Not sure if anything has changed since then.
*
Ok, thanks a lot Miles! I'll try and let you know how it goes..

Globeshop is a service provided by Citibank exclusively to their credit cardholders. The is another one called Globaleshop and only American Express cardholders can use their service in Malaysia.

vPost as far as i am concerned, only provide their service to HSBC and UOB Bank credit cardholders in Malaysia. Not too sure which one is cheaper but your VSHub does look very expensive eh  sweat.gif
*
Yeah, VSHub is expensive. But if you combined many parcel altogether, it becomes cheaper.
What to do.. This is the only way for me to get stuff from the US.
Let me know if you know of any similar service provider. wink.gif

It is the same with both debit and credit card. AMAZON can process your order because they do accept foreign credit and debit card. CK on the other hand, most likely can't process a foreign issued credit and debit card.

If they cannot process any non-US issued credit and debit card. Then the answer is no. Unless you can get a US issued credit or debit card.

How to get a US issued credit or debit card?
Is it possible for us to do so even if we live here?

For us to get a US Credit card is impossible. Because we have no credit score history in the USA and a US bank can only issue you a credit card if you have a credit score history. One builds up his credit score rating initially by using a debit card. That is how it work in the USA.

As for debit card ... No. I don't think that is possible. There are some threads here in lowyat.net about how you need to pay RMxxx first and then they will send you a package and they will help you to open an account at one of the four largest banks in USA namely Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo and Citibank. HSBC is also listed. But then i do not think that is true smile.gif

Wow, there's a credit score rating there? How's in Malaysia? Any rating given based on transactions done?
Oh, about 'paying some, get the card later'. I came across the topic somewhere before but not really interested that time.
I don't trust it too.. Maybe, those who experienced the service could share here?

I personally think it is a fraud. I do not believe in it.

We do have credit score rating here too. But the difference is that here in Malaysia, one will be able to get a loan or a credit card from any banks in Malaysia as long as our credit score rating stored in Bank Negara is clear.

In the USA, even if your credit score is clear but you have never taken any forms of loan before. Your credit score will show "no history" and the bank will reject your application right away.

12. And if you're still 18, you will need one of your parents to sign some papers before they can issue you the debit card.

Guys, just to share. This is the explanation made by CKJeans regarding the failure to process my order, payment made by PBVE debit card:

"Thank you for shopping with calvinkleinjeans.com.

This could be due to a number of things. Please make sure you are
placing the order on a computer with a US IP address. The order must
also be placed with a credit card that has a US billing and shipping
address
. If you feel this has been cancelled in error, you may contact
customer service at 1.866.804.1584."

Miles, you were right. wink.gif

Won't work. Because PBVE is a non-US card. While one might be able to manipulate the IP address, he/she can't manipulate the card's billing address. They will be able to find out which bank and country is the card issued from.
