QUOTE(tgrrr @ Oct 23 2009, 10:02 PM) Uh the RM50 thing on credit card is stated as a government service tax. I think that means it's taxed by government? Sounds like a government's idea to tax the moderate to higher income rakyat. Can't they at least limit it to the second card and so on. Having at least one credit card is useful and beneficial. Based on data, the current cards in circulations are 11 million, let say if 50% is main card and the other 50% is supplement, the govt will get service charges of RM412.5 million. sharinginfoz http://sharinginfoz.blogspot.com/

QUOTE(Sitting Duck @ Oct 24 2009, 01:27 AM) well, i guess increasing the personal relief and the EPF & insurance relief to extra RM1000 is the first step for them to justify implementing the GST soon. And at the end, we are still paying more for everything and we end up poorer. Damn depress now.. Added on October 24, 2009, 1:33 amIf only all brakets would -1%.... that will at least be fairer. even though it's not much.. The IRB recently implementing new income deduction plan that the IRB claims that it will help us by deducting the right amount for the income tax so that we wouldn't pay more during end of the year when the bonus is given to us. I end up having have to pay 100% more tax every month. =( I think increase personal relief for another RM1,000 is not much but it is better than nothing. Let say, if your income bracket is 13%, you will save RM130 but as RM50 service tax on credit card will be introduced you saving of RM130 will be reduced, i.e. if you have 2 cards, you only gain RM30 but if you have let say 4 cards, then you net effect is -RM70. sharinginfoz http://sharinginfoz.blogspot.com/2009/10/b...udget-2010.html

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Oct 27 2009, 12:05 AM) I do not have confident they will lower tax bracket to a reasonable amount in place of GST if it gets implemented.... heck they might not even reduce the tax bracket... I think GST is good as the person who buy pay the tax but it must be lower than the current service tax and provide exemption for certain type of goods and services which is deemed as neccesity and also might be charged at minimal rate.

QUOTE(edyek @ Oct 30 2009, 02:12 PM) The bank should do some promotion or come out with a good hell of a plan to attract more customers. For example, They can absorb the RM 50 thingy on Principal card and RM 25 on supplementary card if only we spend how much per year or how much per month. People like "free stuff". Fully agreed with you, for the new card, do not give the free stuff, give RM50 waiver of service charge which will be imposed by the govt soon....
