Vivitek actually released it a month earlier. I attached the review.

It is obscenely expensive, but at least u don't need to worry about light source.

I suppose with LED projector we can on/off like normal TV set & don't have to worry about blow bulb & doing projector 'foreplay'  !

compact cameras also come with projectors nowadays...i'm sure handphones will have it soon...

just imagine having a full HD 5000:1 CR / 2000 lumens in your handphone?Cinemas will surely lose money like this...hehe

If a light bulb is the projector kaput, we can change the bulb..but the LED light...??? In normal house lighting, you have to change the whole LED thingy which is pretty expensive. If it is out of stock.....

I believe at the moment the pico projectors are capable of 7 lumens. Incorporating it into HP is ongoing, as you said, the problem is battery life. This is something that needs to be overcome in by 2011 where pico projectors are to be incorporated into HP.

The problem is DLP is an almost Texas Instrument solution. There are competing technologies coming in now via some smaller companies, lets see how it develops.

I think the technology exists now to make pico projectors take up the light output up till 14lumens. I have seen some technology that is under prototyping that can take the output to 20lumens. The chip is ready but the battery guys are not.
