The whole curb property speculation justification is pure rubbish, the government is seeking to boost its revenue.

The 5% RPGT will be passed to home buyers since it applies across the board including the middle and lower income groups; it just means affording their homes becomes tougher.

Ultimately the governments aim is to line their pockets with money.
