Somdej, Wat Getchaiyo, B.E. 2534

Somdej Phra Buddhachan Toh Promarangsri of Wat Rakhang (Bell temple) has made the most precious Somdej amulets in Thai history. Somdej means "Supreme". Somdej amulets from Wat Rakhang, together with those from Bangklumpum (consisting of Wat Intraviharn and Wat Mai) and Wat Getchaiyo in Angthung are the most sought after ones by collectors all over the world (ranking by Wat). Earliest batches of Somdej amulets from these temples are associated with Somdej Toh.

Many businessmen would prefer to wear Somdej amulets as it is believe to enhance confidence in their negotiation and dealing. In fact, Somdej is an all rounder amulet that is good for promoting protection, wealth, fortune, intelligence, smooth endeavour, success, confidence, dispelling evil, metta, etc. There are quite a number of modern day Somdej amulets from Wat Rakhang and Bangklumpum but those from Wat Getchaiyo are much less in numbers. As such, this is a good opportunity to acquire a specimen of Somdej from this famous temple at a very affordable price.

Phra Nangpaya, Wat Mahatat, Bangkok

Phra Nangpaya is one of the five amulets in the Benjapakee set. The original Phra Nangpaya amulets were found in the vicinity of Wat Nangpaya, Pitsanulok province over 65 years ago. They are believed to have been made by the mother of King Naresuan the Great, Queen Visutkasatri about 500 years ago. Devotees believe that Nangpaya amulets bestow them with fortune, metta and protection. I obtained this piece of Phra Nangpaya directly from Wat Mahatat during my trip to Bangkok in May 2009. Wat Mahatat, Bangkok is a very sacred temple built during the Ayutthya period and housed the holy relics of the Lord Buddha. The Mahatat Rajavidyalaya Buddhist university is also located within its compound and it is also the national centre of the Mahanikai monastic sect.

Interested? Pls PM or SMS me.
