It's pretty common for MH as the upgrade items needed for the weapons/armours are always 1-2 ranks above you. Best bet is to get someone to help u to uprank first and concentrate on items hunting later. Settle with two sets of armours (1 earplug set like tigrex set and 1 more cenataur is good enough for the sharpness) and concentrate on 2-3 types of weapons for various type of monsters. Good suggestion would be: Learn to use a fast weapon (DS, LS, SNS), and a high damage but slow weapon (GS, Lance, Hammer).

Back then I completed the game with just Hammer all the way.. but the best hammers were really a pain to get thanks to the items needed (try getting diablos hammer... U will really really "LOVE" diablos after u fight with G-Rank diablos )

i remember quitting mh coz of tigrex. i din touch the bloody game for 1 month or more i think.

erm... i did say that elder is meant for soloing while guild is meant for partying.

do elder as much as possible before going guild.

however if you really insist on soloing guild. i would suggest you to switch weapons. you already know what i would suggest. derlin would suggest hammer tho, kaze would suggest gl.

regardless of choice, if u wanna solo guild, u can forget about hunting horn,ls and ds.

let me remind you i do know that each weapon has their own special abilities and stuffs, but be aware some weapons are better for solo play compared to others.

and kill those bug easier without destroying them.

how to fight plesi:
1. put shock trap
2. use frog as bait and fish plesi out of the water
3. get in a few whacks
4. when plesi is pulls his head back (on land), run from the side in between his legs and slash his belly (use gs for best effect) then roll/run off.
5. if plesi is in water combine trap n put trap on the floor again (if you managed to trap him by luck earlier)
6. if plesi is in water throw sonic bomb to make him come out

remember, only attack plesi when you see it wants to shoot water. and only attack the belly. forget about attacking him during other attacks.

actually you can attack his head right after he hip kicks (but belly is still better)
