lol, i think not every car can use as some bend differently than the other..
especially those with unusual door frame, maybe the rubber wont be able to fully cover to prevent water sipping in..
not sure as i never came across such item biggrin.gif

TS,
R u talking bout d door seals? These seals are 99% NOT universal unlike those boot seals.

But if ur talking bout those rubber strips (usually to plug or minor/additional sealing/stuffing), yes u can get those at almost all accesory or spare part shops.

i changed all my door seal rubbers and it did not help with wind noise. then i changed the window guide rubber... and the car was very quiet once again. window guide rubber is the rubber that holds your door windows in place, and it extends into inside the door.

Added on October 24, 2009, 12:41 ami find that door window guide rubber makes more sense to be the point of failure as it is exposed directly to windflow. the door seal rubber is sort of inside.

im using waja and already change the door rubber (4 door)...
due to my rubber already torn so its obvious can help reducing wind noise..
however not sure good but old rubber...

and RM3xx per pcs!!!
i change mine all 4 door below that price (DIY and 4 rubber)...
if u said the rubber at car body (got metal inside).. cost around RM100 (DIY)...
remember.. thats waja...

TS, whether d door seals hv built in metal clips in them or not depends on individual models. Some car doors hv grooves n r sufficient enuf to hold d rubber.

Assuming TC stands for Tan Chong Motors, I'm not surprised if they hv marked up their stuff compared to spare part shops. N since ur 1st choice was to return to SC, I assume ur car is relatively new (<5yrs), I strongly suggest u ask a few spare parts shops coz its unlikely for a car at tat age to hv worn rubber seals so soon, futhermore if ppl hv changed them.

Btw, do consider DIY job coz its relatively easy (just remove n replace according to d rubber grooves). Also check ur window seals n ur door visors (2big = air flow disruption)

TS.. i changed my kelisa one for Rm18 a side fr SC. Ask at acc shop he charged me RM35. All for DIY price. I suggest u go back to SC for the pricing rather than swimming around the acc shops.

As for the effect, for my case i don't think it helped. difficulties to close the door got lah. air must be leaking fr somewhere else at high speed.

I had a water leak problem with my Satria and what i thought was normal wear and tear of the door rubber was actually due to a misaligned driver side door. Mechanic had it fixed in 10 minutes with brute force and some skill.

Cost: FOC because the mechanic's boss is a family friend LOL.
