I went to the post office to deliver a parcel this morning. I put the items in a box, not a really big box but it can't go thru the post office counter window.

I was shocked when she told me i need to pay RM 22 for the box, (KL to penang). I asked her why? She said cos the item i sent is not heavy and the box is big, so I need to pay more.

Does that means if my items heavy and the box small then I will be charged at the normal rate?

FYI, the box is half of the notebook box, but thicker..

The PosLaju charge is based on both the weight and the size of the box.

yeah, based on whichever is higher. sweat.gif

If your mail/parcel exceeds 30cm on either Height, Length or Width, you need to calculate your weight base on volumetric weight or actual weight, whichever is higher.

Volumetric Weight Formula:

(height x width x lenght) / 6000. unit is cm.

Depend. If the price of the size is more than the price of weight.

U will need to pay for the price of the size. smile.gif

use this formula to measure your box

Volumetric Weight Formula:
(height x width x lenght) / 6000. unit is cm.

the answer will be your weight, so just key in the weight at the website

then the cost will come out

the cost have not include gahman tax & insurance yet

if you sending expensive item, buy insurance, anything can claim them

perhaps here http://www.pos.com.my/V1/main2.asp?c=/v1/t...aju/emsrate.asp you can check how much the rate is (approximate only), rather than you have no clue at all

by right it should only based on weight as their website no stated otherwise info.

Just make sure it is not over 30cm X 30cm X 30cm, then you are safe.
If not they will use volumetric weight instead.

Hmm so for eg. I send a long item with measurements 52x11x11cm and the volumetric weight is around 1kg but if the real weight is heavier. Which one will they charge me on?
