My friend's PS3 60GB (serial no.: 02-27430152-0547901-CECHA00) was stolen few months ago cry.gif

These d@mn burglars broke into home through ceiling via rooftop and cart away numerous games including the most priceless PS3 60GB (also lost some cash and jewelries but the most painful for my friend is his PS3). It's very sad for my friend as he save lots money to get this early model of PS3 (which supports PS2 games using hardware). He reported police but they said they cannot do anything at all. I know it is very slim chance to found back but if any of you coincidence bump into it, please post reply and you will be rewarded icon_question.gif

Thanks for your attention smile.gif

The 60gb set is one of the earliest models of ps3 that fully supports ps2 backward compatibily. Sony discontinued it shortly after and i think now the 20gb ps3 plays the ps2 games and maybe even the 80 gb. But im not sure on that part. I could be mistaken, either way the 60 gb set is more expensive than regular 40gb ps3s obviously due to the compatibility thing. Very sad that it happened to TS's friend but its been a few months ago already. So... nearly no hope ler :S

Thanks for all your attention and replies gamers. Yes, 60GB is the model that has PS2 backward compatible using hardware. Same goes for the 20GB models. There are early version of 80GB models that support backward compatible but running on software emulation and it is not as stable as those using hardware ones. Later 80GB models are not backward compatible anymore. Same goes for the 40GB, 160GB and the slim models. If I am not mistaken, PS2 backward compatible models have 4 USB ports instead of 2.

I know is very slim chance for my poor little friend to recover his 60GB back but at least I wanted to share with everyone here that PS3 with serial number 02-27430152-0547901-CECHA00 is a stolen goods! Please keep the comments coming in, the more the better! Appreciate for all your support gamers!
