malaysia will never launch any limited edition ps3 sales here
either u have to pay double the price to get parallel import, just like other limited editions as RE5, MGS4 edition

Sorry m8, but i'm calling BS on that.

We get marked up prices, but our prices for LE consoles aren't anyway near double.

Ask those people who bought the Hagane MGS4 40GB and the Cloud Black 160GB. Both went for around RM1.8k, which was pretty much the SRP rolleyes.gif

Mine suffer the same fate last week. YLOd. 40gb sg set which i bought almost 2 years ago. Bought thermal paste n heat gun. DIY according to youtube guide n whoila, my ps3 is back to normal. Left it on overnight after the process to test and it came out perfect.

How long it will last ? Won't know but next time, i will reflux it. Cost me rm110 for the heat gun n thermal paste n 2 hours of my time.

If your thermal paste cost you less than RM100 on its own, I'm assuming it isn't very high quality? unsure.gif

You do have to change the thermal paste every once in a while though. The PS3 itself uses very good thermal paste, but it is best to change it every year or so (or half a year, if you're scared)

I don't think anyone on YouTube would teach you how to reball, seeing as most people there want cheap and easy fixes, which is definitely not something you could say about the reballing process.

Blowing inside the PS3 might be better than sucking out, since the air going in should (theoretically), cool down the components smile.gif

well perform reballing would last quite longer than using just reflow method
*
Problem with reballing (or any other YLOD fix) is that most people who can fix will charge quite a bit for it.

One guy, shahreza2000, has kena 2 ylod (2nd time not yet recover) and shelled out RM300-400 for each fix, amounting to RM600-800 in repairs alone, which is nearly the price of a brand new PS3 Slim (although you can't really blame him, as he needed to backup his HDD, not to mention how most people end up 'bonding' with their PS3s somewhere along the way)
