Hi marcusee, i would recommend GMC if ur budget allows. There a few well known and good gynae in KL who are attached with GMC namely, Dr. LS Tan, Dr. Jean Woo, Dr. Jimmy Tang, Dr. Teresa Chow and Dr. Wong. Perhaps you can go into GMC's website and check it out.

I am seeing Dr. Tan myself, the consultation fee is reasonable, RM60 per visit UNLESS you go for test like the Down Syndrome Test, fungal infection & medication and etc. Again if your budget allows, no harm going for the down syndrome test if your wife is above 30.

You should bring your wife for prenatal check up once u know she has conceived to make sure everything is all right. The gynae will advise you the DO's and DON'Ts. You should call and make prior appointment with the clinic as most of the days they are full.

Meanwhile, I have heard that epidural (injection to the spine to reduce labor pain) causes side effects in the later years, try to get ur wife to move around often as in walking and such, it helps to smoothen the delivery process. Going window shopping is one of the best bet, hehehe..

Hope the above helps! and Congratz!

Baby starts to get jaundice on the 2nd day onwards. It gets more serious everyday. So we had no choice but to admit him into hospital.

Since we are at my hometown (Muar), so we drove to Melaka. Lucky we admit him that day, cause dr said his blood reading for jaundice is getting quite high. And if higher by a little more baby needs to change blood. But since it is still average high, so dr said phototheraphy first.

Today he got discharged. Only done phototheraphy.

FYI, here are the charges for 4 days 3 nights stay for jaundice phototheraphy treatment in Putra Specialist Hospital Melaka.

Hospital Charges:-
Room Charges (RM147)
Nursing Charges (RM132)
Pharmacy (RM12)
Medical Supply (RM43.72)
Miscellaneous (RM3.50)
Instrument & Equipment (RM140)
Laboratory Services (RM140)
Admission Fee (RM10)

Doctor Charges:-
Consultation (RM90)
Procedures (RM200)
Professional Fee (RM600)

Grand Total: RM1618.22

When they say to bring up a child till they are able to survive on their own, it will cost about 1million... I think is it true...
