Hyundai Trajet good meh?
Many people I spoke to told me its a Trajet-dy
It was expensively taxed and didn't do well until localized to become Naza Ria.
Interested in this because it is cheap?
Trajets you're thinking would be the 2000cc variants and would cost between RM17-20k, lemme think of some alternatives?
1998 Renault Espace - would you consider something like this? A manual 2000cc 7 seater? This 1998 model only cost you RM10k and you get a car thats 2 years older but much bigger, comfortable and safer than a Trajet. This is similar to the luxury taxi KLIA is having, so if its good enough to be a taxi it shouldn't be a bomb to repair? Not too sure about that part gotta check the owners forums for more details on that.
1998 Fiat Ulysse - if you need something of the same size as an Alphard at this price point you can always look-up for this model. Its big and only has a 2000cc heart but it is a manual tranny so it ain't going to be half that bad. I only know of one place to service this model and that's in Sunway so if you're thinking of getting one better look around for any mechs or specialist that can handle it.
2000 Mitsubishi Spacewagon - not into conti's? so how about something from Nippon? The 2400cc engine is a hit and miss, its good to have so the car doesn't feel so lethargic carrying a full load when you're going outstation, however that RM800 roadtax every year would be a bitter pill to swallow sometimes.
2001 Toyota Estima - maybe Mitsu ain't your thang, you want something from T&H? how about an Estima? This was before they had power doors but its still a Toyota and a very common car on the road thus the usual parts and maintenance is always going to be at a decently low price.

thanks for the recommendations so far...
looking to buy a cheap MPV with a max of 2.0. inline 4 engine and automatic transmission to replace my wife's kenari as her daily driver as well as family trips (short n long distance). budget unsure yet as my money is tied up to furnishing the new house so the balance (of maybe 20-30k, hopefully) will be going into buying the MPV for cash... dun wan loan coz cant afford monthly installments for the next 35 years which is when i finish paying off my house hahahhaha
have a few considerations but all koreans. didnt know much about the trajet and couldnt find much info online...thats why i asked....but i did find some good and bad reviews.. so its a 50/50 thing...dad used to own one though... but have to wait til he gets back from overseas for his feedback n discuss with him (coz he said he might help topup, still depends)...one plus point (to me) about the trajet is that its a hyundai and i know a guy who used to do alot of hyundais until he joint-ventured with my friend and started doing alot more hondas... so i can send both my cars (which coincidentally will be a
H and a
H) to the same guy... the joint venture is jebon71 on mudah.my
the renault and fiat is, to me, even scarier than korean cars.... really no confidence in french cars at all. hahahahha....so totally not acceptable

kinda need something cheap to buy, run (fc etc) and maintain with good parts availability...better if have aftermarket/fake accesories oso. and must be comfortable... aircond must be really good.. roomy and good luggage space coz of baby stuff including stroller etc.
thinking of VERY long term use.
my other considerations:
- chevrolet nabira 1.8 (30-35k) / 2004-2006
* supposed to be good based on what ive read online, but ive also read online of people having issues with the coil plugs and computer box. computer box replacement alone is about rm5k (about the price of a haltech). might be isolated cases only though. still worries me.
* also smaller compared to other MPVs
* not sure about airconditioning.
- naza citra 2.0 (25-30k) / 2005-2006
* alot of it on the road so parts should be easy to get
* not sure about air conditioning
* dad also used to own this... told me its a good car but not to get it due to the very high fuel consumption.. and this is coming from a guy who owns n daily drives an e-class mercedes..
-kia carens 1.8 (20-25k) / 2002-2005
* exactly the same as the citra but its a 1.8 version. everything else is exactly the same (or looks like it)
* cant find much info about this car as its not that common on malaysian roads...i myself have only seen a few.
* not sure about air conditioning
Also found a 2001 Opel Zafira for RM19k. its the same exact car as the nabira just different badging (this car is being sold under many different brands)
theres also the 1999-2000 Nissan Serena... but this one is more like a van than an MPV with the spare tire being in the front engine compartment... so reject heh heh heh
i would personally prefer a 1.8 as i find its the best all rounder in terms of power, road tax, fc, etc etc. but hard to find except for the nabira/carens.
