Expect the fc to be bad because 2.0 in such heavy car will be underpowered resulting in high fc

QUOTE(alcatrez @ Sep 13 2010, 12:52 PM) The best that people have told me is 20 sens / km on highway. No doubt its a great highway cruiser..after all its a cefiro. Highway fuel consumption would be better. But town will be just bad because the engine has to work very hard to pull the heavy body. On the plus side, review has shown that is is a good and reliable car. regards, |

Honda accord 1988...dont you think that there will be alot of wear and tear in many parts and the chassis already? Unless the owner did a major overhaul to most components then it would be fine. Check for rusts on the bodypart. Also, i think the honda civic is around 30k+..

QUOTE(kevin_kwfoong @ Sep 18 2010, 03:28 AM) 1. Brand : Any, but not local. I'm driving a MyVi now. Interested in Toyota(Vios)/Suzuki(Swift)/Nissan (Latio Hatchback) Increase your budget a little more to get a new car..the interest rate for used cars are higher.2. Budget : Around 60k+? I'm planning to pay monthly around RM900-1000 3. New/Used/Unreg : Doesn't matter 4. Specs : Full Spec 5. Transmission : Auto 6. NA or FI : NA, i guess? 7. Type : Normal passenger car 8. Remarks : I guess matching my budget with the brands, I'll end up with used car, which I don't mind. But I've read comments saying that Vios has smaller space compard to Suzuki? My fav option now is Latio, but I'm not sure how much is a second hand Latio Hatchback. Any comment is much appreciated! Depends on how many passengers you wanna carry? 8 big sized adults or just five people. Grandis is the largest of them all. If want something bigger for the same pro e you can consider starex.

First of all, how many passengers you wanna carry? Mitsubishi Grandis is quite a good car. Handles well compared to other MPV's. Suggest you to test drive all cars including the Starex. Diesel power
PS: You can include recond Toyota Alphard and Estima into your list too This post has been edited by ReaperOfSoul: Sep 21 2010, 12:10 PM |

QUOTE(rakyat @ Sep 28 2010, 01:08 PM) Not only applicable to balik kampung, sometimes going out for dinner with visitng friends/relatives oso need 2 cars. Toyota Innova , Serena or probably an Exora? Actually very rarely do I need 7 seats but parents will understand that the baby seat occupies 1.3 seats oredi. It is very uncomfortable for 2 adults + 1 baby seat to be cramped into a 3 seater (unless u r driving full sized sedan). What more I will need 2 baby seats soon But even w/o 7 adults, for long distance the xtra space & seating arrangement make it more comfortable. Anyhow, bsides Naza Ria no comments on the other marques? |

QUOTE(rakyat @ Sep 29 2010, 01:53 PM) No-la Wish/Stream/ Livina are stationwagons i.e. 5 seater with cosmetic 3rd row. Well, one thing for sure, the stavic's parts are gonna cost you a bomb. Make sure you research on that before getting it. Ria on the other hand is the engine issue. I heard the engine needs a complete overhaul after 100000km mileage. Depends on luck actually What is impt to me is not handling but space when I need to put at least 2 baby seats + 2 or 3 adults. I oredi have a 2+2 coupe for daily drive. Added on September 29, 2010, 2:08 pm Serena & Innova r xpensive compared to the MPV I listed. Initially I was also thinking of getting a 10 yo Estima around RM90k but after serious contemplation decided to get newer & cheaper alternative. Innova & Serena, I still need to pay RM80k for 6 to 7 yo cars with low specs but for RM70k I get full specs 6 yo Stavic or 4 yo Ria w NGV with RM1Xk for initial maintainence. OTH I like the shape of Serena and was told that it was comfortable, mayb if I can find a well maintained one > RM80k My father oso advise me to get a brand new Exora but afew thing crossed it off for me - 2nd row seats oso bench outlay & cannot adjust. 3rd row lack legroom for adults. 1.6L engine for MPV is underpower in my opinion |

Volvo for the win if you're a highway cruiser. Its safe , fast and looks good. However, the turnoff is the expensive parts. Besides, its already quite old and those electronic stuff will start giving problems sooner or later. Or else , i'd recommend you to look into the toyota camry or hyundai sonata
PS: the sonata would be good because its a 6 speeder , hence lower rpm at high speed cruising This post has been edited by ReaperOfSoul: Oct 9 2010, 10:48 AM |

Not sure about the after sales and service as i dont own them..but for conti's , usually those electronic problems will cause a headache. However, it depends on your luck la. Inspect the car before getting it. Why not you test drive all three cars (v50,camry and sonata) and decide from there?
One more thing, test drive the VW Golf 1.4TSI too This post has been edited by ReaperOfSoul: Oct 9 2010, 11:29 AM |

QUOTE(dj.eRicZzz @ Jan 5 2011, 05:13 AM) 1. Brand : Proton, Honda, Toyota. I dont think with +-30k will get you a City/Vios, but if your fama 'loan' is approved then probably can lv 2. Budget : 30k+, might be able to go up to 50k IF mapa approves 'loan' 3. New/Used/Unreg : doesnt matter 4. Specs : must 4 doors, at least 1500cc 5. Transmission : automatic 6. NA or FI : NA 7. Type : Sedan 8. Remarks : better if got some mods like rims, audio and some bodykit. better if got engine modifications with proven increase of power without increasing fuel consumption. i'm looking at Waja, Persona, City and Vios. City and Vios i dont know which gen, but not the newest design. car must be able to be driven at an acceptable speed like 140+ on highways and stable. since i'm have quite long legs, prefer if the room for the backseat is more because i'm currently driving a wira sedan, i push the seat all the way to the back and recline it slightly lower. i am also concerning about the wear and tear items, like power window, door handle, drive shaft, and all the pricing. i dont mind paying extra a bit AS LONG AS IT LASTS. i always travel up and down using highways. i'm from puchong and i often go subang, klang, ampang, kl areas. so the power and fuel consumption is important also. thanks in advance |
