sifu, help me. im a student going to work force soon (a month)..engineer, need a car.. 1. Brand : satria or kelisa 2. Budget : max. 12k (no more fixing and stuff) 3. New/Used/Unreg : most probably second hand 4. Specs : as long as it's fuel efficient 5. Transmission : doesn't matter 6. NA or FI : dont know what is this 7. Type : anything 8. Remarks : My first car my concept is to pay up as soon as possible so no long loan for me, because i'm planning to go oversea after about a year working here. besides that, i think car is really the worst investment so that's why i want it cheap, cheap to operate as well, but reliable.. like this one ok?.. http://www.mudah.my/Proton+Satria-11857465.htmand why is kelisa so expensive?..

QUOTE(Yuun @ Oct 19 2011, 08:51 AM) Don't buy the old satria, it'll burn a huge hole in your wallet especially Fuel consumption is concerned. I tell you based on experience of owning one. Like they say, you get what you pay for. Since you have concern on FC, Satria is a no-no for you. Kelisa is a good car & price had always been competitive due to good demand. I've been eyeing for this car for the past 3 years and the price had been steady. My cousin trade in her Kelisa for only RM9k to get her Honda Civic but boy... that car after refurnished is being sold at more than twice the price! >.<"
RM12k? You hafta go for 2nd hand pal... probably consider kancil since it will be around your budget.
I find this model attractive. Kia rio. It's newer than those old satria. and the brand sounds more convincing. from a brief browsing in mudah.com, it's even cheaper than kelisa.. http://www.mudah.my/Kia+Rio-11835869.htmDo you guys have any comments on: 1. car quality (frequency of breakdown or something like that) 2. safety 3. fuel consumption 4. cost of maintenance/servicing/parts 5. resale value This post has been edited by H.K. 1. Brand : As long as it's safe and reliable 2. Budget : up to 30k max, prefer somewhere 24k if it's really trouble free. or somewhere 13k with minor fixing. salary 2.3k 3. New/Used/Unreg : New or Used (prefer used because it is more affordable). 4. Specs : doesn't matter, but hope that i can get something presentable la. for poor engineer 5. Transmission : both (prefer manual since it safe fuel and less problem, like savvy) 6. NA or FI : i don't know what is this, better one lo 7. Type : Doesn't matter as well. It's mostly for my own use. 8. Remarks : -fuel efficient is a must (long travel to site) -easy and low maintenance -resale value? probably doesn't matter if it's about 13k only
9. On my mind currently: Savvy, Myvi, kenari, kelisa, viva, satria(old model), sentra, atos, kia rio
actually i really really want to get a savvy, but read a lot of problems. leaking, aircon, coil, accumulator, gearbox, jerking, hard to find mechanic, hard to find parts, maintenance also expensive. so in the end, feel like it's not worth it.

1. Brand : - 2. Budget : I can afford DP of rm12000, with commitment of rm550-600/month 3. New/Used/Unreg : 4. Specs : - 5. Transmission : Auto 6. NA or FI : - 7. Type : - 8. Remarks : Good FC, good pocket for maintenance, reliable. Is second hand vios ok? something like that? http://www.mudah.my/Toyota+Vios+1+5+A+FULL...OP-24326006.htmI owned a kelisa. I am actually reluctant to buy a car because life without commitment really gives a lot of freedom. but It's has been making noise here and there. This post has been edited by H.K.
