Hi, i'm looking for a car for my gf. Still deciding whether to go for used/new car.
1. Brand : Something compact like the size of Myvi
2. Budget : Less than 50k, or maybe slightly more but the cheaper the better
3. New/Used/Unreg : New or Used
4. Specs : Std Spec
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI :
7. Type :
8. Remarks : The catch is here that my gf just came back from oversea and not looking to move out in the next few years. However, there is a possibility that we may move out to oversea after 5 years.
Thanks!!
i'm guessing a basic city roundabout is all you need.1. Brand : Something compact like the size of Myvi

a myvi would be your best bet as it will hold its value quite well when you want to sell in 5 years time.

do them a favor and choose something more affordable.
if they're against local cars because of their mindset of them being unreliable and euro cars because their mindset of them depreciating alot.
you can consider the parents favorite of toyota or honda.
perhaps can consider honda jazz hybrid or honda insight as your top range choice.
then think about vios as your entry level.

1. Brand : PROTON/PERODUA
2. Budget : 30k
3. New/Used/Unreg : anything
4. Specs : any
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI :
7. Type : any , from sedan to hatchback ?
8. Remarks : Was checking on some second hand cars around this price range and found some Proton Savy. My question is why is Savy's second hand value low? Is is due to its complicated gearbox?
second hand value depends on alot of things but the main thing is demand.2. Budget : 30k

if many people demand for that model then it will always have a high value.
for example 6th generation honda civic second hand/third hand price is on par sometimes with 7th generartion model.
because the 7 bombed while the 6 was da bomb!
just did a search and found some gems, you may look at the total.

here are a few that pop at me:
probably over priced for a wira, should try to stay away.
http://www.mudah.my/Proton+Wira+SE+auto+sp...gi-13406075.htm
a good price since this person is desperate to offload his car quickly to buy a house, you may get discount if he is really pushing for time.

good looking car and 4 years old is usually the time for people to upgrade to a better car, so usually buying from these people is good as they maintain a car well and change it every 4-5 years.

1. Brand : Any
2. Budget : Somewhere around 150k (if I can get it for less even better)
3. New/Used/Unreg : New or used (but must be less than 4 years old)
4. Specs : anything will do
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI :
7. Type : MVP or 7 seaters
8. Remarks : For me, looks come last, I go for leg room space and safety first.
a smart choice choosing cars in that age range.2. Budget : Somewhere around 150k (if I can get it for less even better)

this is an enigma, its a 2006 car but registered in 2010, still can get loan but its not exactly 4 years old.
class and space wise its competitor are the likes of estima and alphard but unlike those cars this one is
much lower so drives like a car.
http://www.mudah.my/Honda+Odyssey+RB2+Perf...+A-13387526.htm
when it comes to MPV's you can't beat citroen's or renaults they have the best in range for this segment.
this particular version even comes with a pano roof!
space and safety should be 5 stars you can fetch the reviews for this model.
though many people hate its looks.

for new if i were you i'd be thinking of either ssangyong or hyundai mpv's.

1. Brand : As long as it's safe and reliable
2. Budget : My fresh grad basic salary is 3.6K.. It will be great if you can advice on what my budget should be.
3. New/Used/Unreg : New or Used (preferably because it is more affordable).
4. Specs : Good enough for a lady driver? Haha
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : Doesn't matter (Lady driver! Haha)
7. Type : Doesn't matter as well. It's mostly for my own use.
8. Remarks : Just a first car for a girl.. Thanks! I guess it's important to get a car which doesn't eat petrol too..
without knowing you better and your actual budget i am going to assume you want the lowest possible repayment with the most reliable and cheap to run car.2. Budget : My fresh grad basic salary is 3.6K.. It will be great if you can advice on what my budget should be.

imho there is only two models you can consider from my statement above.
cheapest non-local brand would be consider a Vios E or G. don't go for J or TRD.
for local just buy a Myvi, don't buy the most expensive one its not worth it just accessories, get the 1.5 auto.
