for your need, any of those would do.
out of those, if interested in gaming, go with asus k40ab, it also got 2 years international warranty.
if still want better warranty, get dell inspiron and up the warranty.

hi guys,
Im looking to get a laptop with the following criteria and usage

14inch or smaller
Used browser and normal stuff and Photoshop
RM2200 max
No Acer pls
Just sold off my Acer 5920G
Any suggestion??
Right now looking at HP DV2 1003AX, i can get employee price at RM1999 with external dvd drive.
*
you do realize that hp dv2 1003ax is using single core?
better stick with dual core when comes to photoshop.

QUOTE(asimo_xd @ Nov 5 2009, 10:05 PM)
Thanks Lee for your wonderful opinion..BenQ S42 is definately out of my range..haha..too expensive for me...

Dell Studio 15 is on my mind now for the affordable price with graphic card, 4gb ram and 2.0 megapixel camera at the price of RM2699..only think i dun like is they are heavy..

Dell Studio 14 might be on my list too if the price is lowered a little bit..

Anyway..PC Fair is just around the corner..so i will go there and have a look before making my final decision..

Thanks a lot once again..
*
actually studio 15 is light considering its 15''.
if want similiar spec but less weight, Toshiba l510-s438, it *might* have the same performance as studio 15, but still no users confirming the vram being used on the hd4570.

*

QUOTE(kimmiz @ Nov 6 2009, 08:21 AM)
Thanks for ur comments...really appreciate it... i saw fujitsu & d surface is not glossy..

btw, wat's d function of d gpu on sony? is it for gaming?
*
gpu is for displaying image on the montior, but can be separated into dedicated and integrated gpu, which dedicated has better performance in gaming but eats more battery, on the other hand, integrated gpu is fine for everything except gaming.

QUOTE(hamzah_18 @ Nov 6 2009, 09:50 AM)

is it true that Intel T4xxx series processor's performance really limited??

*
depends your usage, if just watching movies, net surfing, office, no difference.

QUOTE(StormZ @ Nov 6 2009, 11:35 AM)

Hi guys, I need your opinions on the specs of my soon to be new laptop.
So basically i'm gonna use this laptop for gaming and assignments.

Here are some of the programs that i'm gonna use with this laptop.

1. MS office 2007
2. Autocad
3. Pro-Engineer
4. Fluent
5. Caesar II
6. Ansys
So are the specs good enough or do i need to add more stuff?
*
good enough to play all games in the market now.
do consider sager notebook as well.

QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Nov 6 2009, 02:57 PM)
wow! thanks bro! btw, the 256mb memory for graphic cards is good ma? wat does it mean by tat?
*
256MB is enough for the low resolution 1280x800, you only need t worry it if you playing in high res such as 1920x1080
the important is the memory type.
9600M GT 256MB GDDR3 beats the 9600M GT 1GB DDR2

its still the same thing, so no difference of course, but you never know what thing could be slipped in to the non-genuine.
update is mostly to fix security holes.

well, for under 3k, the best processor you could get is p8600-p8700, which is around 2.4-2.5GHz
samsung r470, which has basic nvidia gpu g105m.

you might want to ugprade the hdd to western digital scorpio black 320GB 7200rpm WD3200BJKT for better performance.
since mobile hdd is still slower than desktop hdd.

acer 4937G had p8700, but not sure still available or not.
benq s42 also has p8700 and nvidia 9600m gt, overkill for your needs, but sells at rm 2999 near my place.
lenovo, >3k.
dell, inspiron 13 at rm 2999, inspiron 14/15 by customize it.
hp, would be only p7450.
fujitsu, >3k.
asus, >3k.
