what we mean is throw it aways after u get the system .. McAfee is a resource hunger app.. its very bad for a paid security suite.. I'd recommend ESS4, NIS2010 and KIS2010 over it for paid security suite..
*
Means it uses lots CPU Usage? or in layman terms, veli 'eat Ram' arh? laugh.gif

not as resource hungry as the old Norton, but for a paid AV, it's not a very good one...

Hi, may i know what kind of specs i should expect with 1-1.2k secondhand laptops? I quite lost in this area since its been awhile where i actually follow them. I don't really play game on my laptop maybe some light gaming but not priority. I'm looking for:
- able to play hd or even fullhd movies smoothly
- have hdmi output
- not so hot
- reasonable battery life maybe around 2-3 hours?

btw, what is a superdrive? tongue.gif

Thanks

I want to buy a laptop to claim my scholarship

Price=2.5k to 3k

screen size=14"

weight=dun mind (but lighter better la)

battery life=average (only for presentations and the time visit library)

usage=mainly for assignments
-(occasionally) autocad , 3dmax, games (small game) , photoshop, programming. (one week once)
-(mainly) ms office, movie, songs, surf net.(everyday)

brand=any but not acer.

most important is it lasts long & hard use. (maybe 5 yr?) I do not like to invest in computer. sweat.gif

windows 7 supported (i prefer to get pir@t*d DOS and antivirus by myself brows.gif )
but too bad DELL forces user to buy DOS&mcafee.

Seriously nobody knows how long can your laptop run... it's basically a luck factor... every brand has their own users complaining about the laptop. If you wanna be safe just extend your warranty to save yourself from troubles. Service wise it's obvious that Dell topped the rank.

For your budget that is between 2.5k - 3k, most laptops come with Windows 7, I'm not sure whether you can request for a DOS version... and in that range you can choose BenQ S42/Studio 15/Toshiba L510-S4314
