maybe the road not smooth?
*
mrr2 road is quite ok on the stretch reaching tasik selatan.
the reason could be the lousy tyre in B-line(test car). i just tested a friend's M-line on the way back from workshop.
no such problem. lucky i bought the M-line!

recently, i bought a new saga blm auto for my sister.
and the FC is a lot higher than my other 2 car. (light foot driver. only rev when necessary)
i know it's normal for a new (not run in) car to return a high FC
but i would like to know the rough FC (estimate) of a few months old saga for comparison.

btw, siuyi, my name is not in the owner list yet, eh?

thanks!

mileage is 1235km. blm auto.
a mere 120km covered on 30 bucks of caltex ron95. 80% city driving.
35 bucks of bhp's ron95 covered around 143km. 85% city driving... never rev beyond 4.5k.
my other 1.6 and 1.8T could do better sweat.gif gotta let my sister drive it till 8k mileage and see if there is
an improvement.

those SA is nice but the mechanic aren't so friendly.

I was at Desa Tun Razak since 7.45am. only get it done after 11.30am. nowhere to go except sitting at the stall nearby. sweat.gif
there is a Mesra authorized sc at Ampang somewhere near Puteri Park but Mesra don't attend complaint.
the BLM has a 'tok' sound from the rear suspension during heavy cornering.

btw, is the 'grasshopper' like spring sound(when going over uneven road) from the inside of steering column normal for all BLM? mine has the sound and according to the SA, it was normal for the BLM... wonder if the BLM really stand for 'Buruk Lagi Murah' as mentioned by other BLM user during the
service sweat.gif

Hw can i experience the feeling of European/Continental car with my Saga BLM? I know i'm dreaming. And i know others would laugh at me. tongue.gif

But really, i  wanna improve the driving experience. Don't car about exterior and ICE modding.

My plan is sound insulation & stut bar brows.gif

How's that possible?
*
yes. you can. all round dual layer / 3 layer sound proofing material; including body / boot / front bonnet and 4 doors.
go for sound proofing spray on underbody too.
installing front and rear strut bar will improves the handling.
changing to bigger set of wheels and adequate suspension setup will help too. the stock BLM suspension
has excessive body roll in fast cornering sweat.gif

then again, those 1.3 engine will work harder than ever to cater for the extra weight.
so, BOT might be the final answer brows.gif else, saga 1.6.

btw, mineral oil = 5k service interval.
semi synth = 7k service interval
full synth = 10k service interval.

ATF should be on 15 - 20k service interval depending on the daily routes. car driven mostly in hilly road condition will require an early service on auto transmission.

So that means for 10k service I gotta use fully syn la? cos after 10k is 20k service.

Added on December 26, 2009, 6:54 pm

U've tried adding the strut bar? does it really help in driving experience? wat is BOT anyway?
The sound proofing if were to be done for whole car, how much would it cost ya?
*
fully synth will last for 10K or around 7 months. whichever comes 1st. even if you only cover around 5k in 7 months, it's advisable to go for engine oil change.
just like the ATF for auto gearbox. manufacturer recommend is every 20k service interval but let say we 're staying in hilly area like cameron or genting. it's better to change ATF every 15k.
of course CVT transmission is different coz the service interval is a lot shorter!

strut bar will improves the all round cornering ability. tires / wheels and suspension setup does play a big factor in handling too!
my other car has rear strut bar, front strut bar and even side fender bar.
BOT is Bolt On Turbo. add-on turbo kit for any (suitable)engine without turbo. but it wasn't a simple thing. re-maping / piggyback of ECU required. Google for more info icon_rolleyes.gif

depending on the material / layer. not sure about BLM but i've had done mine on other car at around rm1.5k(including the 4 doors) last time.
the only thing noticeable from outside was the turbo kick smile.gif

Guys can we just apply the Insulflex (on the floor) without sticking it? I mean just put it like that la. Like putting carpet on the floor..
*
it won't work tongue.gif
but there is this insuflex material with 3M tape ready. all you have to do is remove the carpet, stick the insuflex all round and bingo!
not sure if it's works but maybe you could try... if it works, we can bulk purchase from garage sale tongue.gif

i think CA glue works better....hehe
*
agree with you. in fact, i used CA glue during DIY session on my friend's car. it will not stick to the car's surface.
best thing, once it dry up. it can be easily remove without marks.

i think tein spring is soft

u might consider the coil buffer thingy
*
are you sure? am using tein adjustable on my other car. it's rock hard with hi low setting sweat.gif
but it takes corner like no tomorrow thumbup.gif
tein is a performance (sports) brand and performance spring usually lower the car but the ride is harder than the stock spring. icon_rolleyes.gif

hi
blur bout one thing for soundproof
which part of insulflex need to put glue and stick to door plastic?
the smooth(licin) side or not smooth, got small hole side (small lubang2)?
if terbalik, will affect anything?

thanks
*
the smoother part. if you want something that easy to remove, use CA glue aka Dunlop glue.

so far, none of the tein spring that i came across is on the soft side. the standard replacement is still
stiffer than the stock spring.
btw, adjustable suspension spring can be custom made to tailor your driving style and requirement brows.gif

15" saga should be better using profile 50. then again, the fc will be sky high!

i managed to get on the wheels of the friend's 1.6 blm taxi.
nice pick up but the cabin noise it unbearable. worst than 1.3 b-line and there is a loud noise from the underneath when driving thru potholes sweat.gif
perhaps, those blm that allocated for taxis are not 'nvh insulated' properly hmm.gif

Added on January 16, 2010, 10:59 ambtw, m-line auto that i bought for my sister was shaky at 120km/h too. send for 1st service and complaint to proton sc.
they claim a wheels balancing was done but afterwards, it's still shaky.
and during engine idle, there is a buzzing spring sound from inside the steering column which is getting noisier when going over uneven road. proton claimed the spring sound was common on all blm... dang!

anyone of you guys having the same problem?
