1) thats because there is plenty people like you, who come over the store, and showoff with your tech knowledge that you gain by reading website at home, then questioning the salesperson a thousand question and say "i'll think about it,thanks" and leave the shop. try face 5~6 of people like this in a day and you'll get what i mean.
2) i don think there is any sales persons who will directly ask discourage customer to not get a android, its the customer's right, im sure most of them will hint and inform the customer there is no much application for it.
3) you can say the sales persons are not tech savvy but hey, they do more practical repairing than others. some people likes to imagine they can repair a crash program by going into some forum or google for it.oh well, you know..brick it after that.
my opinion on android based on hero
good(s)
1) definitely hack for fast speed! normal web browsing (not those m.facebook etc) is faster than others.
2) fast respond. compared to window based htc diamond 2, every click on application is fast popout n loading.
3) two way sensor~likes it a lot if u ask me lol
bad part
1) honestly, have anyone with hero/android based ever think of how to close ur browser? at least im not, and i havent figure out how to close browser and other application. u can anytime log back to ur last 6 application without that closing. and i hate it if my gf sees what i browse
2) lousy camera respond after hit. SO SLOW , but well, i read they coming out a new software to improve it,im fine with that
\
3) i hate hit sensor!!! typing sms is torture, im not used to it yet!!
4) no garmin!,yes i know, it will have it someday or later. and google map is coming out with a "real" navigation gps soon. beta now
ps: im a htc hero user and i have plenty of sales person friends. and im not a sales person, im a office slave
1) You can use a end task application to end the application, android works like palm somewhat, they leave it running in the background unless memory is hogged, then it closed the program. Although i think the system should be improved a lot more. 2) i don think there is any sales persons who will directly ask discourage customer to not get a android, its the customer's right, im sure most of them will hint and inform the customer there is no much application for it.

2)a lot of the paid camera app seems to be better.
Yeah i miss my G1 qwerty keyboard too.
For GPS, use papago or sygic, it's quite good and there is even in mandarin or malay.
