I'm negotiating with a local company here in singapore to distribute FA products.
This will translate to cheaper prices - dependent on USD/EURO Forex.

However the plus point would be 1 year warranty and faster lead time.

The company will have stocks on hand so that I can post out to your guys if you're interested(almost the same price as bulk but you don't have to wait for bulk orders), and i'll offer paypal transfer for easier transaction and security.

Sorry that my first post is of a sales nature, but I'll contribute more when i get more samples from FA.

Today I received the Fiio E1.

Brief Impression -

I've borrowed a nano 4g to do the testing and review.
I'm quite impressed that Ipod's amplification has improved since the last time I heard it, 1-2g era (i know, it was a long time ago.....)
It can drive the Eterna quite effectively at about 1/2 but where it starts to shine(3/4), the amplification starts to distort.

The highs start to clip and become very harsh and unrefined.

Plugged in the E1 - which is quite a nifty device if I must say so myself.
Bass extension went deeper but tighter. Clarity and imaging came alive even with mid quality MP3 there was evident SQ improvement.

I hate to admit it, but as an anti-ipod person - Ipod + E1 + Eterna kicks my Fuze's butt.
Now I have changed my views drastically about apple Ipods.

Okay we have gotten distributorship for FA products -
This means we have ready stock to send out, local warranty 1 year (singapore).

Not to clash with the current MO, I will wait for it to be finished then I'll open orders while trying to sort out the postage fees/transaction methods.

We are currently stocking Eterna/Silver bullets and we'll be bringing in most of the Fundamental line and some of the signature line - Sigma/Omega

No need for MOQ, just purchase as and when you need one.
We're also offering bundles with Fiio E1 and E5 at attractive prices.

For now I'll accept paypal while trying to secure a malaysian Maybank account for my own.

I'm sorry but only purchases through me are valid for warranty claims.
We go by the serial number system, each product is registered with the distributor even stocks that I take from them will be registered so they know exactly who took the stock.

Added on December 23, 2009, 1:43 amFA has informed us that we'd be receiving a new sample product of their signature line.

Its called Sigma v2 and it has a kevlar cable.

I don't know how it works and the first for me to even hear that kevlar is being used as cable.

I will update this thread when i get a chance to review it.

If my earphones have problems later, am I able to claim warranty through the singapore distributor? Since I got it from the last bulk I don't have the receipt to prove the date of purchase.

t500/t400 works well with it.
tames the bass and tightens it so that it removes the boomy-ness makes it more bearable on a warmer source.

FA's stock tips are horrible, too soft to get a good seal.

Other tips i've tried are soundmagic's PL30 and UE SF5p/TF10p silicon tips, the size is the same.

How about the sound if using PL30, UE tips? Silicon tips last longer and makes me interested tongue.gif
*
PL30 has the olive like foam tips which is more enduring for abuse.
It does the same to tighten the bass.

Silicon tips is a very iffy thing, some tracks they're okay some they're just too boomy - the mids are bloated.
not to forget that the IEMs itself is very picky on source.

Not many amps are designed to take IEMs.
If you design for IEMs, the headphone crowd will not buy - not enough power to drive some bigger headphones.

So have to compromise inbtwn, but i don't know abt you..
FA products in general quite hard to drive.

Listen at low volume it loses its dynamics and shine.

lol eterna is designed for bassheads.

If its too much bass, theres silverbullets which are more mids centric and have a lighter bass thump compared to the eternas.

depends on genres.

People who like vocals and classical, will like silverbullet.
Bassheads - rock/hip hop etc will like eterna.

Each has its strong points but they're very niche in their strengths, you can't make it a general purpose phone. Though both a very musical and fun.

If you want something that takes the mold of your source and amp which you pair with your music, then RE0.

But you need a good amp to bring out the bass.

I've noticed that people who play hifi or are into high end setups, they'll prefer silver bullet for the soundstage is very wide and you catch more details plus the sound is more "balance" sound.

These people are 25 and above..mainly listen to jazz, vocals and classical.

Those who don't, would rather the more fun sounding eterna

These people are 18-20+, mainly listen to pop and rock and hip hop/RnB.

I guess with age as you grow older, you'd tend to seek out details and "accuracy" of timbre rather than just boom boom bass.

But I'm kinda like a hybrid, I like to listen to all genres, so I pick IEMs to my mood.

Jazz/Vocals - Silverbullet
Hiphop/pop - Eterna
Serious audition - RE0

For me I don't touch EQ even how awesome it is.
Thats just me, a purist.

So I just have multiple IEMs to suit my mood LOL
But don't take my word as gospel, just how I like it.

Anybody here got a PL50? Wanna know how it matches up.

Was a previous owner of the PL50 and I lost it somehow sad.gif

PL50 is a crappy iem imho.
everyone who auditioned them after hearing the Eterna and silver bullet, gave me a dirty look.

I'd prefer the pl30 anytime.

QUOTE(terradrive @ Mar 17 2010, 08:49 AM)
It depends, IEMs are very different than speakers. There's resonance in high-mid frequencies and high frequencies at default on all IEMs. That's why sleekaudio SA6 have configurable settings to compensate this, their website on SA6 did mention about the resonance effect inside ear canals on IEMs.

I find the eterna just perfect for me that the frequency response on my listening volume is near flat. The proof is that binaural recording sounded nothing short but awesome to me, the 3d effect is easily heard.

I would be inclined to agree, but I've never used EQ - not that i can remember
I don't see a reason to start using it now.

For me, i'd just play around with tips to find the sound i'm looking for.

can use both what.
Why you make it seem likes it's either, or.

Eterna for the road, PL50 for the bed.

Within the headphone series FA02 and FA03 is that one is closed and one is opened but the mold is the same.
It is a balance headphone, so you can use a balance dac and amp for this with detachable cables.

Quite interesting, current MSRP is 4990 rubles - abt SGD 239 or RM 586

Also If you're interested in any models let me know so I can do a pre-order for you.
I believe not all the models won't be stocked, so let me know early.
