Added on October 24, 2009, 8:01 amGot an email from FA, they're looking for distributors!

Sadly enough, in my current financial situation, ordering 100++ units of FA IEMs are a bit of a far stretch, I hope Godluvsxs can handle it.

Want me to forward the mail?

Agreed. Build quality niggles aside, I'm really interested in their SQ. Plus, compared to the horrors of my PR2's build quality, it can't be THAT bad can it?

Sign me up for the bulk, godluvsxs. Maybe with loyal customer perks? brows.gif

And, depending on how this turns out, I might have to let go of another IEM... Can't continue on buying like this... sweat.gif

Woohoo, first on the bulk list.
-
On a more serious note, I'm hoping that the Eterna is good enough to best the PR2, now that I'm noticing just how well the E5 warms up the cold mids of the PR2.

hehe...had the same problem with my PR2,superglue comes to my rescue...lol

but they do produce quality sound although i  hear some sibilance using silicone tips.
Clieos,

another great poison as ever, with the diamond poison tag,my wallet icon_question.gif

looking fwd to 1st bulk buyer's impression.... thumbup.gif

Woah, somebody else with the PR2s... biggrin.gif

How would you rate the PR2s vs your Atrios, anyhow (sorry for the hijack bro ClieOS? I'm considerably interested in someone who has both... biggrin.gif

And yeah, there's some sibilance, especially on my "Tweaked Up Treble" EQ setting on more badly mastered tracks, but it's endurable... brows.gif

am afraid u would ask me that question... brows.gif

i like them both very much, and its quite difficult to rate them as i always rotate between the two.

Atrios low bass imo is fenomenal, mid a bit flat and high is better control than PR2.*no sibilant
to have a more balance sound,i feel that using tips with wider opening does help on the mids n highs.*more forward.

PR2 doesn't go as low but produce gud thumping bass nevertheless and the mid and high is clear n crispy.(having said that am still looking for suitable tips to reduce the sibilance, going to the pharmacy tomorrw to buy some foam ear plug and do some mod, hopefully can reduce the sibilance.

well if u want my opinion whether it is worth to buy the Atrio @RM550,i would say no but if u own the Atrio now and would like to own the PR2@RM250,
i would say yes and a tube of superglue,of coz sweat.gif

eterna @RM250 drool.gif but right now am sahara desert :dry cry.gif after puschased X-1050

cheers bro, hope it cures ur curiosity biggrin.gif

Thanks for the opinion... I'd say about the same about the PR2... Glad to know I'm not the only guy who thinks that it's a good IEM (and thus my ears are screwed)... biggrin.gif

Okay, enough off-topicness, back to the Eternas... biggrin.gif

The last slot is taking its time to fill... Don't make me buy two people... sweat.gif

QUOTE(ClieOS @ Nov 12 2009, 12:15 AM)
I only auditioned IE8 briefly, not enough to pass done any real judgment thus I don't want to include it in any review. However, I also audition UM3X and W3 the same day (and I had my RE0 that day for comparison), and IE8 is the only one that impress me, that say a lot on how it fairs. Since I also like Eterna just a tad better than RE0, that make IE8 and Eterna two of the best dynamic IEM I ever heard. I don't want to misguide you to think that I can / have compare(d) them side by side to actually tell you how they compared with each other. If anything, recalling precise audio memory is often too inaccurate for any usefulness.

-
Wow, if you prefer the IE8 over the W3 and UM3X, then I'm inclined to trust your ears even more now.
-
And that just makes the next step for me even clearer: I need to get me the IE8 somewhere along the line.
-
That and a UM Quad... brows.gif

Listening through mine using my Fuze + LOD + Crap E5...

Impressions? I like em, even though not as transparent as my PR2 (after the initial 30 minutes out of the box) or is the bass as dry (it's a bit flabby and woofer-y). Soundstage width gets spanked hard by the PR2 (the PR2 is much wider by a far margin), but in terms of imaging, they seem equally competent. Though, to my ears, the Eternas have a touch more depth in terms of the perceived soundstage.

On the other hand, the Eternas have far better isolation, lol.

And yeah, the Eternas are basshead phones. That's for sure.

But overall, the Eternas are very engaging phones, out of the box. Will update with more critical impressions later after thar burn inzzorz!

made me feel like getting PR2 O: how did u get ur hands on the PR2s Eiraku?

One shot bulk by Fred86 a while back. Now I feel like ordering a backup pair, lol... biggrin.gif

MUCH more detailed compared to the Eternas, but as a result, a tad sibilant and fatiguing... Feel like ordering the FX500 just to see how MUCH better it is compared to the PR2 which it has a similar sound chara to... biggrin.gif

But, in the Eterna's favour, they're easily as comfortable as the PL50s IMHO, and being specifically designed for wire-over-ear use does help a LOT!

On a side note, might be getting the VB soon too. Maybe it's time for a shootout?
