am afraid u would ask me that question... brows.gif

i like them both very much, and its quite difficult to rate them as i always rotate between the two.

Atrios low bass imo is fenomenal, mid a bit flat and high is better control than PR2.*no sibilant
to have a more balance sound,i feel that using tips with wider opening does help on the mids n highs.*more forward.

PR2 doesn't go as low but produce gud thumping bass nevertheless and the mid and high is clear n crispy.(having said that am still looking for suitable tips to reduce the sibilance, going to the pharmacy tomorrw to buy some foam ear plug and do some mod, hopefully can reduce the sibilance.

well if u want my opinion whether it is worth to buy the Atrio @RM550,i would say no but if u own the Atrio now and would like to own the PR2@RM250,
i would say yes and a tube of superglue,of coz sweat.gif

eterna @RM250 drool.gif but right now am sahara desert :dry cry.gif after puschased X-1050

cheers bro, hope it cures ur curiosity biggrin.gif

Thanks for the opinion... I'd say about the same about the PR2... Glad to know I'm not the only guy who thinks that it's a good IEM (and thus my ears are screwed)... biggrin.gif

Okay, enough off-topicness, back to the Eternas... biggrin.gif

The last slot is taking its time to fill... Don't make me buy two people... sweat.gif

When the bulk arrives, I hope someone can do a direct comparison of the IE8 and Eterna. Saying the Eterna is on par with IE8 is amazing, but no one has backed it up yet. No disrespect to ClieOS of course, but a second opinion would be assuring.

I do hope it's true though. Then I can have the SQ of IE8 (or close) at 1/6 of the price biggrin.gif

...and before anyone get angry about me saying Eterna has the same SQ as IE8, then have a different opinion of their own: I was making a point on Eterna and IE8 being two of the best dynamic IEM I ever heard, not that they share the same SQ, or the same sound signature in that matter.

This is the original paragraph:
QUOTE
This is by far one of the best dynamic universal I have heard (placing it alongside with IE8 and just slightly ahead of RE0) and to best them all - it only costs $59. I dare to say I even prefer it over almost dull sounding SE530 and almost on par of TF10 (only because TF10 offers better accuracy with less coloration).

Clearly my mistake notworthy.gif

How does it fare against IE8 anyways? The IE8's strength seems to be its bass and soundstage. Does the Eterna come anywhere near the IE8 in terms of both?

I only auditioned IE8 briefly, not enough to pass done any real judgment thus I don't want to include it in any review. However, I also audition UM3X and W3 the same day (and I had my RE0 that day for comparison), and IE8 is the only one that impress me, that say a lot on how it fairs. Since I also like Eterna just a tad better than RE0, that make IE8 and Eterna two of the best dynamic IEM I ever heard. I don't want to misguide you to think that I can / have compare(d) them side by side to actually tell you how they compared with each other. If anything, recalling precise audio memory is often too inaccurate for any usefulness.

sorry no offense

i think no point getting something that ppl say it is good even if ur ear doesnt really like it.

after all everyone got their own preference and it is still better to get something we like more than other ppl like.

as of for me, i would like something that can tingle my ear more than tickle my ear whistling.gif <--- that really tells what i like already haha

Wow, if you prefer the IE8 over the W3 and UM3X, then I'm inclined to trust your ears even more now.
-
And that just makes the next step for me even clearer: I need to get me the IE8 somewhere along the line.
-
That and a UM Quad... brows.gif

That perhaps requires some clarification: I was impressed by IE8 as it has a different sound signature from your typical high end IEM. I think Sennheiser's approach is more 'enjoyment orientated' instead of trying to sound 'more correct'. UM3X on the other hand is also a solid top tier choice, but I feel that it is too conservative on its sound signature and lacks personality. It is not necessary a bad thing as it makes the IEM less picky on music genre. The real disappointment of the day was W3, which I can only describe as being rather harsh and lack in resolution. Personally I would have taken UM2 over W3.
