Anyone of you bought EDGE's November issue yet? There's a spotlight on Malaysia's video game industry (quite a number of pages dedicated to it). The contents are as follows:

1. Digital Malaysia - Malaysian Gov representative and Canadian representative from Codemasters KL share perspectives on where does the industry's ambitions lie.
2. Southeasten Promise - Nine local leaders talk about how government, education and industry itself help evolve the country as a game-making nation.
3. Studio Profiles - Codemasters ,Igloo Digital Arts, E-one Studio, Young Jump Animation, Studio Caterpillar, Easy Only! Games, Framemotion Studios, Zombie Gecko.
4. University Profiles - The One Academy, Asia Pacific University College of Technology and Innovation.

Cool stuff, I don't think local game mags covered our local video games industry in such a manner in a single issue.

On the serious note, I'm quit surprise they made no mention of the piracy in Malaysia.. well at least that's the first word to come to mind among many Malaysians whenever gaming industry is mentioned hmm.gif

Piracy happens everywhere. I remember seeing a mod shop at Aussie. Not that I would say they support piracy or anything, but it doesn't need to be mentioned. That's how I see it.

hahaha. ok la. will share the non p&c goss with you guys la.

apparently, there were quite a few studios that were so hesitant to be profiled in the feature.

you would think that its a great opportunity to the very least put your company on the world map, but nooooo.

this reflects the mentality of some the local peeps here. always complaining that the people in power not doing enough to help the industry (and them), but when this opportunity presented itself, they didn't grab it. some couldn't be bothered.

oh well...
