Malaysian version of S10 already withdrawn from the market. no clear reason why is it withdrawn & not the older X & C series.
However few users of S10 did posted their experience wth screen burn in!! check or search for "Panasonic screen burn" thread

For the Luv.. Getting fed-up seeing lotsa plasma/LCD recommendation so I choose the general & the most version one to be pinned @anfieldude...The reason of rplacing wth newer model doesn't make sense mah when the older X & C series still in the market Must be something cooking there.. QUOTE(Boon3 @ Jan 22 2010, 09:11 AM) Alamak! Another pinned topic? At this rate all postings will be pinned.

I'm not an expert-lah. Well if u ask me go for the ohne wth more features, better picture quality by comparing side by side & value for money.
I'm not sure ur LG..Is it Plasma or LCD? For better comparison u should decide 1st whether to choose LCD 1st or Plasma 1st & thereafter comparing LCD Panny Vs LCD LG or Plasma Panny Vs plasma LG
Both Plasma & LCD having diff characteristics...For me after owning a LG LCD for past 2 yrs, boring dy & got a big X series Panny...Reason bcos it's bigger than my old LCD, more HDMI, it's no longer flimsy plastic screen but glass & comparatively (My eye only) Almost as good as others & value for money RM2400 nia..

Giant 3 days ago till Y'day offerinmg Samsung 42' PS42C431 Plasma TV for only RM1698 (Was told Today back to RM2K ++)..I think this is the cheapest Plasma in the market dy & I grabbed it. Too bad only 3HDMI compare to my old 42' Panasonic 42" Plasma having 3HDMI that I can used for UNIFI TV, Astro Byond & AC Ryan media player..sigh..
Anyway happy wth my purchase as the colour is much better than Panasoinic Plasma & comparing Samsung 5series Full HD LCD 40" side by side here is my review:
1) Both also stunning and LCD less glaring and brighter at straight angle (I almost decided on LCD at this point)
2) At side angle, Plasma win flat on the Full HD..no fight at all. LCD side angle really cacat
3) LCD..screen feel plasticky & liquid when press. Plasma is Hard & smooth glass feel -solid.
At the end still choos Plasma..haha esp knowing that lotsa Astro channels still on SD and once you are on SD channels, LCD sure letdown as my past ancient LCD..

Thinking of merging this to existing thread.
Anyway..Just trust your eye..and if you like Plasma, buy plasma and if you want LCD, just grab it-lah..
For me I always watch LCD from sideway beside my desktop that I'm typing right now..If I buy LCD, I will regret most of my time bcos of the lousy angle view & furthermore, watching SD channels using LCD..darm cacat..
So I choose Plasma...

NMay diff kah on the panel origin?
With the current globalisation trend, most panels probably mass prodcued from China, Taiwan & lesser in japan and imported by those Giant Japan or Korean brand as if their own.
For eg..Sony is actually using either Samsung/sharp panels Pansonic probably having their own @ Osaka but probabl;y having OEM from China or Vietnam too Phillip...wellknown using LG. Sharp might be having their OEM from Taiwan too..
