hello sifu & brothers in here. i am planning to get a plasma and guy from Best Denki intro me to LG42PJ350 which is around 2.5K. But I am not familiar with LG and according to him I don't really see the diff in not having a Full HD since plasma is running on 3,000,000:1 contrast and 600HZ. is it true? and he did mentioned that there's not much complaint from LG buyers out there compared to other like Samsung and Pana. thanks~

Same thing happen to me in Best Denki. One 'pushy' salesman tried very hard for LG. He said that LG plasma have been selling like hot cakes since they came in. Maybe, LG offers better sales commission? nod.gif

For your information when you spend your hard earned money:

1) Full HD 1920 x 1080 means the resolution of the screen is higher, or more dots per square inch of screen.

2) High dynamic contrast 3 Mega: 1 means there is bigger difference between the 'whites' and 'blacks' in a displayed scene. With increased contrast comes more realistic depth in the picture and better dark scenes.

3) 600Hz refresh rate means that the TV screen is refreshed far more quickly (or often) creating better motion without blur (good for sports and action movies).

All three specifications above are independent of one another. Having stronger values for one spec does not compensate for weaknesses in the others. All three has impact on Picture Quality, so beware!

My ideal TV is 60 inch diagonal, full HD 1920 x 1080, 5,000,000 dynamic contrast, 600 Hz refresh rate, no image retention (burn in), nice colour saturation, 3D without glasses, 6 HDMI ver 1.4, USB movie port (that plays all file formats with firmware that can be updated), 5 years on-site warranty, 1 inch thich only, wide viewing angle 179 degrees, low consumption of energy, .....

thanks bro for the feedback. thumbup.gif

that is what my other fren told me also. so i am thinking to go for 50" FHD then. but my fren kept recommending me Panasonic for Plasma. haha~ the guy at Best Denki is under Best not other promoter from individual company (i.e samsung, pana, LG). so it's more honest feedback maybe. and he goes out for the installation too. so depends wanna believe or not lo. haha~ thanks again. thumbup.gif

anyone saw the new LG 50PV250? it's the new FHD Plasma.

not sure if it's as good as Panny's U30K or not. Since the main diff is the 3M:1 and 2M:1. But i heard 50" plasma can't really differentiate that.
