All sifus,

I am looking for a plasma TV (like the deep black) but my viewing area (can't change the location, cannot change curtain as well) has lots of natural light in the afternoon and downlights at night. Reflection is not good smile.gif

So is there any plasma TV models with matte screen in Malaysia right now?
Or do I definitely have to go with matte LED TV?

Thanks for help smile.gif

Best plasmas currently are from Panasonic who bought over the legendary KURO tech from Pioneer. Look for their VT and ZT series brows.gif

Not sure if there any matte Plasmas hmm.gif

Yup, I do like the Panasonic plasma, but so far all the models that I manage to come across are glossy screen sweat.gif

I really prefer matte due to the condition in my viewing area.

Appreciate sifus recommendation, before I go out and look at all the models.
Anyway, the brands that seems to sell plasma TV that I know now are Panasonic, Samsung, and LG (did I miss any?) (And from the models that I come across so far, the PQ seems to be in that order as well hmm.gif )

Matte please. TQ sifus smile.gif

I notice on some higher end led tvs like samsung or sony the motion or fast action movies were soooo smooth it was like the movie runs at 30++ fps compare to those normal movies which should be at 24 fps. was it due to the refresh rate like 100, 200 or 400 Hz?? these smooth motion is kinda bad when watching movies. feel like a 'fake' one. Hope u understand what i want to say

you are talking about the "soap opera effect" laugh.gif
read up on it and you will understand.
All you have to do is to turn OFF those interpolation tech in the TV, and it will look alright again.

It all depends on your room and eyes, even our TV (plasma) is near a window, and we dont find its being distracted by the sunlight.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Yup, I'm leaning towards getting as good a plasma as I can afford, and then slap a (sarowin) anti-glare screen protector on it hmm.gif

For my laptop, I usually get the screen calibrated.
I think it should be worthwhile to do the same for TV. (sorry, I've been living for the past 8 years without TV. Finally decide to buy one as I need to stop my 4 years old son watching youtube using my laptop all the time, I'm afraid it is not for his eyes staring into a small 14" screen all the time).

Is there any good TV calibration technician sifu here can recommend? (Klang Valley)
And normally how much will TV calibration service cost in Malaysia?

Thank you for advice and suggestion notworthy.gif
