1. bring your favorite bd,dvd, game to the tv shop and test it out. if they dont entertain you, there is always another shop.

2. do your homework or read all 4 version of this plasma/lcd..from my own exp, 9 out of 10 salesman in klang valley will push lcd and condemn plasma. old tech, cant last long, image retention and the latest i heard is plasma is good with astro but lcd is better with dvd..hahaha.

3. its your eyes and money. err ears too. tv sellers in lowyat.net is cheaper or on par with the dealers. really, i have compared prices for the last 6 months...

4.remember that in electronics the latest gadget today can be bested by almost double in performance by its successor within the SAME price range.

to my eyes, for hd materials, anfieldude's setting is the best so far.

however for sd, its quite hard. even if the tone, picture and color appeared good in tv1 or tv3, change to 701 and you will see the white are a bit greyish. not to mention sd materials differ greatly between the channels.
ive tinkered sd through the hdmi using user setting for a while but the result was one setting is good for 701 but picture is soft in 551 or tv3 or vice versa.

end up bought a component table, hook it up, apply the settings in user and the result is quite good, star movies is really nice smile.gif, well this is to my eyes though.

people say 428xg sd processing is excellent, why not just fed it with 576i and let it do its magic. u dont need to wait for several seconds for the pic to automatically widen on the sides too...

btw, p ramlee movies is a joy to watch again smile.gif

its good to politely asked the remote control of the tv and, go to menu and check the tv display setting.

10 out of 10 the plasma tv is using dynamic with contrast at 100 in order to counter the bright lighting in the shop which is of course is not the same as your own viewing condition.

now, in a dim and dark room, if you put lcd and plasma side by side guess which one will appear grey?
