QUOTE(ntdote @ Mar 12 2012, 05:09 PM) Hi guys, Question about Samsung LED TV lifespan Senheng and HSL salesmen both said that we have to turn off the tv power completely to prolong the lifespan. Pressing the power button on control will set the TV to sleep with red dot at bottom right, not going to stop the tv from running down its life. Is this a myth? Because it will be troublesome if need to switch off power supply everytime. use remote control = standby off what u have saved is lcd panel life (and backlit led bulb for ur case), speaker amp etc.. but not the circuit board of remote control receiver (small lens beside the red dot bulb) and DC power supply those parts are not hard to repair for experienced electronic ppl turn off socket switch covers all except the wear & tear on switch, cheaper to replace |

if u care for very deep black, get PVA panel made by samsung.
take note that samsung brand tv NOT necessary using samsung panel. sometimes they out source from other oem like AUO and Chimei panels. so do a bit research for the model u desired and use finger to test at shop |

The key point is measuring instrument, colorimeter.
human eye will adapt to environment, so u cannot calibrate accurately by eye |

QUOTE(pat07 @ May 7 2013, 11:49 AM) what are the differences between LED & "LED LCD" Opt for Panasonic TH-L50E6K LED.. but found out all the pro recommend Panasonic for plasma.. The swipe & share feature, is it applicable for Ipad?? Which brand has the best LED TV? please advise. no recommendation from me, just want let u know about LED tv. in the market, LED tv and "LED LCD" both are same thing. real name is White LED backlight type LCD panel tv. since this LED bulb cannot produce color (except white), it has liquid crystal layer (LCD) in front to spread the light to color spectrum like rainbow. u can refer back to mea culpa post for edge type or direct type white LED. |
