just bought samsung UA40d5003 at SENQ for RM1549... lowest spec LED TV from samsung I think...

pretty good for the price because i don't need the the smart tv, multiple hdmi, USB movie etc....

initially wanted to buy the plasma model but notice the pic quality of LEDs getting close to plasma (but not there yet)

the plasma model is cheaper and has 43" screen, better pic quality (only HD)

but the LED is so energy efficient... consumes only 100w (plasma 230w) same as my 29" CRT

LED body is also thinner/lighter... so decided to get the LED TV as my first HDTV

finally can really enjoy my blu-rays+home theater system tongue.gif

hi all..currently planning to upgrade my lcd... saw an offer from seng heng selling SAMSUNG PS43E400 PLASMA TV for rm1299...is it worth to buy it? any user for this plasma tv? this one new model or old model? coz seng heng stated this is the new samsung plasma tv 43 inch...really need help here...tq

That model screen is not even HD, so not recommended if you watch bluray or other HD sourced video
My guess it is targeted for those viewing normal astro (SD) or regular tv & dvd.... To replace a normal CRT TV with a wide screen one

thanks for ur advice..so should i go for LED? which brand is the best for 40 inch led tv? samsung? sony? lg..etc.. for budget below rm2000

Plasma still hv better pic quality, but slightly..... U can still get a plasma with HD with that budget

Myself, I got an LED bcos it was on clearance (low spec model) so ditched plasma. ?other vantage of LED..
Slim/lighter design (big difference), low power consumption (100w vs 230w ), Full HD

U may need to consider other factors....usb movie playback, smart tv etc...

Only chked out sony, but didn' like the color rendering.... Liked samsung better... Didn't compare with philips, toshiba, sharp or lg

Get the tv with the display u like best and spec meet your needs and enjoy it drool.gif biggrin.gif
