Yeah I checked out both of the TVs. the sony light is great but yes it will somehow distract your attention when viewing some of your movies/film. regarding the outlook i personally love the sony due the slimmer edge compare to the samsung. well at least to my observation. about the smart content I don't care that much since i have the WDTV Live already and I never surf the net using the TV. I also checked the sony tv has an external ac/dc power supply and the input use DC 19.5V like most Vaios. this is great when you are having burnt power supply. easy to replace and the TV should be much cooler since the power box is outside already.

Does this model use the samsung panel? I check some or most of the vaios are using the samsung panel. my choice would be more on Sony since it has larger screen 42" compare to the samsung. I'm about to replace my very old Samsung 32 LCD which is more than 5 years of service. it has a serious backlight bleeding and i dont think it can be rectified. The old lcd tv now got some soury liquid smell. not sure what it is, i think the lcd is 'leak' already 

There is no electrical shop in Klang Valley which can beat the prices offered by Legends at SS2.  And yes i know those who support Legends competitors like ESH, etc will come in here with the usual crap attacks but im speaking from my own personal experience buying electrical stuff from them since 2009. You just cant beat their prices. And these are not display sets mind you.

Just wanted to check, is backlight bleed common for edge lit LED TV's ?

got a Sharp 39" and i could see cloudy spots around the edge of the TV when it's pitch black.

should i be worrying ? or its just a common problem?

Dead lcd panel. Try not to place your tv too close to AC or anywhere with rapid humidity change, and also direct sunlight.

same thing, layers that make up the lcd container separates. physical abuse also can damage the layers like those with bigger or single pixel like active 3d glasses, if you drop them hard  black blots of the liquid crystal can be seen.

I was planning to get a Sony Bravia KDL-46W704A but was told by the electrical shop guy that this model was discontinued. =.=

Any other better tv at the price range for RM2500? 46" or 50" doesn't matter and 3D is not a requirement
